Why so many Specializeds for sale?

Specialized Bikes are very pricey so what some people do is buy the bike and after a year of riding sell so that they don't lose to much value. Very popular bike and one of the best dual sis bikes on the market so the market is flooded with them...

This.

There's nothing wrong with a Specialized bike, I have upgraded last year to an Epic Comp Carbon and am very happy with the bike. One thing to take note of is that the Brain Shocks are expensive to service but factoring in how much enjoyment you get within the 50 hour service intervals it is not that bad. I am not punting one brand, I love my Specialized, but I might have also loved a Scott, all up to you to decide.

the 'f I just read?

On what planet do you service a brain shock every 50 hours of riding?

First service is minor after 50 hours. After that I think 150 (not 100% sure of the 150.

You are infact 100 percent correct. First one is 50 hours, after that every 150 hours.

Lets say I want a Giant in Cape Town, I would guess Chris Willemse and the Giant concept stores are my best bet. I really dont know, they dont market their product. If I want to buy a Spez, there are at least 8 shops in Cape Town I could go. Spez head office carry a massive amount of stock, so whatever you want, you can have it within a day or two. They are in the business of selling bikes, and doing a bloody good job. At last weekends 99er mtb race I would say more than half the field rode Specialized. At one stage their were 5 of us riding together, all on Epics.

Now take those brands advertised and see what the average price would be for each brands bikes for sale ... that would make for interesting reading I am sure.

Just search the complete bikes for sale in price order - High to Low. Take a guess at what bike features the most in say the Top 20....

how do you do that ... can't seem to find a drop down to allow this?

Thanks...all the explanations seem very logical...at least it puts me off my fears to buy one.  To be honest, I would really like a Cannondale as my first choice, but would be more than happy to settle for a Spez if its the right price...

When I bought mine I was told by Specialized every 50 hours is minor with 150 being a major. I have only done the first 50 service as i am currently on 80 hours.
