Camelbak mouth piece leaking

Stop biting it so hard.  If you bite hard the end of the slit splits and doesn't seal nicely.

Mine lasted three years with no problems, then I let my daughter play with it, and drip drip drip.

Sportsmans have them for R120.  Easy swap out.

Why do the Camelbak mouthpieces begin to leak after about a year? The drip drip drip is worse than an unhappy wife!!  Can Hubbers advise on an alternative, more effective mouthpiece I can buy.

yes...water bottles

Its to force you to cultivate a good drinking technique. Blow air back up the pipe after drinking from the camelbak. It also means that your drink does not warm up in the pipe thingy.

They easily get spots of mould if not routinely washed and disinfected. If any little black spots in there its finished. Smallest hair, fibre or biogrowth will make it drip

Yep. If you've ever put your pack down on top of the bite valve in your car or tote you'll understand the value of that little guy.

Get better fitting bottles :whistling:

1 x 500ml bottle is all I can fit. That'l barely get me half way up any hill worth going down, and I kinda look silly going up hill with knee pads on.

dont chew so hard, mine have never leaked.

that said, riding with a camelbak seems to be a thing of the past for me.

My small Trance frame is too tight to accept a 600ml bottle so I am stuck with hydration packs on any ride longer than 30km. Or I have to stop at each water point to rehidrate - time lost is bad for my psyche - I don't want to come absolute last in my category, second last is better.
