some of the most obnoxious people I've ever met happened to be triathletes.

Ha, that explains it!! These 2 / 3 abreast riders on Hendrik Potgieter must be triathletes!

I never said triathletes are retards. I just said some of them are knobs.

Just wish to add something here - keep in mind that you also get Aero frames for road bike which are not necessarily TT / Tri bikes.

Will a marshall even know the diffrence when you get to the gate?

Bugger the frame / wheels etc....The handle bars are a dead give away

It isn't allowed.... Triathletes like people to know they are a big deal, that's why they always wear trisuits, compression socks and pointy helmets. The deep section zipp wheels on an R80k cervelo is also a must. They are superior to all other sportsmen, hence no rules apply to them. PS i take part in triathlons but for this very reason I refuse to be called a triathlete.

Its probably because you useless at triathlons that you reuse to be called a triathletes. Stick to the point that is Tri bikes are not allowed in road races and some people just take chances. Don't generalize.

Strange how people always assume that they are faster than you... Sorry, triathletes are all great and down to earth people and none of them have a superiority complex because of some m-shaped medal...

I made arrangements at a local race upfront to ride my TT bike.  I started a few minutes behind and rode on my own.

Why go through all the effort of entering a race if you want to ride on your own?  :whistling:

Cuz the road is safer due to marshals patrolling it.  I could have ridden regardless but felt it would only be right if I support the organisers and pay an entry fee  .
