On the topic of the TriRock - 12 months later and nothing has changed.

Last year the run leg was cut short (18km instead of 21km) because of all the broken glass in the route.

Was out this morning doing a few circuits and the place is a ******* mess again. The TriRock boys and girls are going to have their work cut out tomorrow morning.

It really is a crying shame how disgusting the area around the Bike & Bean looks after a night of revelry.

I agree entirely.  Was out there this morning and the rubbish was disgusting.  The smell of urine was terrible to say the least.

Something should/must be done about this.

Surely this must hamper tourism and business in general along the beachfront?

Take some spare tubes guys.

Something should/must be done about this.

I spend an hour or two every second weekend picking up trash but it barely seems to make a dent.

It is a systemic issue within society, one that isn't going to go away through reactive measures. Even if the entire Durban cycling community spent mornings cleaning up the area the problem wouldn't vanish and it has been a problem for years.

Proactive measures need to be taken by the city council. Community awareness needs to be a thing. The municipality should have taken a zero tolerance stand on littering years ago. And the thing is, roadies are just as disgusting when it comes to litter. Every morning we are out there busting our humps and every morning without fail I will see some knobhead chuck his Gu wrapper to the floor or sneakily drop some piece of non-degradable junk.

How can we as a group of people bitch about the hooligans who stink up the promenade, when we can't even get those within our own little community to have some respect.

And the useless Metro cops were just driving past shaking their heads!

We rode out to PMB and back yesterday, coming back via Fox Hill.

I have to say that the stretch from near the top of Fox Hill to Camperdown has deteriorated quite badly in the year since I last rode it.

Folks need to watch out for that stretch. Once you're over the top of Fox Hill and take the left turn at Thornville, that section of road to the N3 highway is especially dicey. Watch out there when in the bunch. Risk of punctures or crashes. Keep your hands on your handlebars and look sharp.

After that it's plain sailing.

Think its more like 1,200m climbing.

Man, I still can't find myself to like this figure!

Not enough weekends left to get my legs use to this over that distance (once did a 1000m over 21km [Welvanpas black route] but at least the distance doesn't take it out of one too)..

SO much for riding towards the coast hey

Phone them, as tombeej mentioned.

A few of my club mates also didn't receive their numbers by email, but got it after phoning.

yeah that's what I thought also, well I knew there would be some sneaky hills in there, but after riding part of the route on Sunday, its not going to be an easy ride at all...
