I dont mind which brand it is really. However I like bikes, rather I will buy a bike that has a good selection of parts on it. For me fork, shock brakes and wheels are very important part of the kit.

If you look at the different brands you will find very few that has an overall good selection of parts.

bro, i just asked to talk about bikes are arent giant trances...

how hard could it be!?!

according to the replies i got its apparently impossible and I'm an idiot for having an opinion that isint the giant trance and i need to have an exorcism to get the idea of anything else out of my head

So, have you found a sub R30k bike that does what the Trance does, but is not a Trance? I couldn't.

This thread is completely different. If I had R40k to spend, I probably would not have bought the Trance... or maybe I would have... with some upgrades.

I think that Commencal is a bit overpriced for what you get. I would then rather go for the Giant Reign 27.5 2!

You obviously don't like Commencal and that is fine, I don't need to convince you on the brand.

Bringing a hard tail silverback into it doesn't justify anything.Essentially those components are all you are really paying for...

Haha it was a dual sus man. I wouldn't make that error. But I did sort of insult a cult brand. Sorry for that

Guys I think to point here is that if you are shopping for a complete bike, you will always get better value from the big companies. ( Giant, Spez, Scott etc.) With "value" being somewhat subjective. The big companies use a lot of "own brand" parts, and are in a better position to negotiate volume discounts on the drive trains, suspension and brakes. The question is whether you like their "own brand" parts...

I believe there is better value in the frame only options. Use your old parts, upgrade the fork if necessary, and after a year of two of tinkering and upgrading you'll have your dream bike. Some of the coolest rides out there evolved over a period of time.

Obviously this is not always possible, especially if your bike was stolen or if you are upgrading from an entry level bike.

My 5 cents...

The frame is only 15k coz it has "Commencal" on it. They don't have a superior suspension design that many buyers are willing to pay a premium for. I've seen a Silverback specd with a Reba fork, full slx and Arch Ex wheels for 18k brand new. There's a difference between knowing the prices of bikes and knowing what bikes are worth.

I liked the brand but man those commencal frames just didn't last... Maybe their enduro /am stuff are better, but I cracked 3 x meta 4" frames in 6 years on the weld where the shock mounts to the down tube. They were good ito warranty though and replaced the frames with little hassle. Eventually the shocks and brakes were also buggered, so I never asked them to replace the last frame where the cracks also started

Order this from CRC, R23k frame, build some sweet parts on. Buying a bike stock is lame.

That would work out beyond my budget, they going for R24.5k off CRC and then you still have to add the import costs. If I were to got the custom build route I'd most probably get a PYGA onetwenty650b. Cheaper than the NS and can get local support if I have a warranty claim.

Yeah,

You can get a Banshee Spitfire frame incl. a Cane Creek Inline for that price...

Giant trance 650b is probably near the best value for money.

but being absolutely honest in that targeted price range you not gonna find a Sh!t bike

you need to test a few and find what is best for your build and posture.

good luck
