Looking at these, but we're not a fast lot. Can go all day though. Which one would you suggest?

Rouluer is priced in pounds - so unless you have cash to spare not many Saffers can afford it.

Tour de Boland seemed to be aimed more towards the racers this year (may be wrong and it may change next year).

So a bit of a rock and a hard place...

If I could choose any of the three I would go with Rouluer.  But my budget doesn't allow for it....

Perhaps.

Times of our top 4 riders for day 1.

1: Andrew Time: 2:28.50,

2: Eugene Time: 2:28.55 (rider 879 chip 5272) not showing on results

3: Ryan Time: 2:30.37 (rider 880 chip 5203) not showing on results

4: Ian 2:30.39.

I have this from the data sheets for Savage.

1: Bernard Time: 2:28.49

2: Kevin Time: 2:30.39

3: Brendon Time: 2:30.39

4: Calvin Time: 2:33.49

Shoee, this Time family sure can cycle.

Old Father Time must be very proud of his boys.

Disappointing to see another ASG event having the same issues. That R350 entry fee for the Emperors palace classic seems huge for a race that we might not have any water or timing .

Then it can be considered non-delivery and we can start demanding refunds....

I hear you. Judging by their long winded report (excuse list) it seems they are not ready to just admit they messed up this important aspect of the event. They should read Savage's alternative response and ponder it.

I wonder if any one or even one of the corporates that sponsored teams will take the matter up in the courts?

What do you calculate the ZAR value of the damage to sue for would be ?

Think you can just sue for what was not delivered, so timing at R160 a day for 5 days for 8 riders.

I am not sure you could sue for much else. I would not sue, I would just like them to use a proper time keeper next year. As this years event is done and dusted

This is true in ZA. The onus is on the complainant to prove actual damages, so one would need to construct arguments around what that particular aspect of non-delivery costs, and that could differ from team to team or rider to rider depending on how important to you the timing was in inducing you to enter. For eg, if you lost sponsorship due to no reliable result being presented etc.

Not easy to do because we are not America!

If they promised to have a working solution in place for next year, and you go back on that premise, and they do not, you might change your mind.

Nope will not happen. Stage race against classic is a huge different ball game. All of the classic ASG races I never experienced any issues and the R350.00 entrance fee is standard nowadays for the same "size"race

All I say is that ASG is pro active and had communication on the Emperors where I received very fast feedback as I always do

TdB was specifically aimed at the weekend riders.

Listen guys, give ASG a break.  Timing problems can happen to anyone.   It even happened on the TdB a couple of years back. Luckily those responsible left to do their own thing.

And the TdB has water.

Oh trust me it can be done, I am working on it as we speak.

I'm sure it can be done, just interested in what you would calculate your damages at
