Hello Guys and Gals

The 2 Oceans Marathon and 21km is over the easter weekend.

I know cyclists like to use these public holidays to do some miles,

Please respect those runners taking to the streets trying there best for there own personal goals. The cyclists have had their oppurtunity to own the road

Please take care to avoid the 2 Oceans route.

Rather be a spectator and support your local running club.

Seconding is not permittable from any moving vehicle/ bicycle, seconder must be on foot, may lead to a DQ runner.

Old Mutual ask a selected group of cyclists to assist there task in monitoring the runners, it can not be done by a car (no space & exchaust fumes) as it affects the runners.

For religious reasons some runners will be doing there Run on Friday.

Please bear this in mind when you are heading out for your ride.

Lets support our fellow sportsmen and women.

Looking forward to it actually!

they changed to route now to go over Oukaapse weg.

Thanks Frail, its going to be my first ultra so it will be nice to have the open road.

There was an incident which I saw in the Red Hill marathon where a cyclist tried to cut through the runners, clipped someone and went down hard. Runners are not expecting bikes and are prone to sudden changes in direction, it can be pretty dangerous for all parties.

If anyone wants to ride then the best thing to do is to head out 30 mins before the runners (ie 6 am) and enjoy the quieter roads

A few years back a runner asked a friendly cyclist for What Speed he was cycling, he was DQ.

Enjoy your run.

You might be kidding but there are cyclists out there that have that attitude and not kidding.

No I'm not kidding.

not sure it is the smartest thing zipping trough thousands of runners than can very easily get you off your bike for a chat. Mob justice just might be something you find yourself in the middle of.

obviously this route wouldn't have worked on argus weekend with the fires on silvermine. They both have the detour route from when chappies was closed as backup.

Going to be missing out again, always enjoyed snapping the leaders coming past Muizies
