No so funny for us Natalians!

Hey, now you know what us CT guys had to deal with over holiday periods when petrol was cheap and there was a proliferation of caravan parks in the Western Cape.....with Petrol being so expensive now you guys get more traffic in KZN :P

Just my 2c.

You have an Alu bike with X7/9 components (Which are no longer in production due to GX grouppo from SRAM) and NO front shock, flat pedals and pretty standard handlebar/seatpost/seat etc that you want to move for R15 odd k.

Your el cheapo fatbikes go for around R4k in the shops.  A quarter of your price.

So the guy buying a fatbike for $^%# and giggles will go for that.

Rethink your price or just go play with the thing.

R27k for an alu frame with X7 parts and "Chaoyang" tyres is insane - that's why! I could probably get you on a full carbon fatbike frame with X0 groupset for not much more than that. No matter how wide the tyres are, you are still selling an X7 specced alu hardtail in my opinion.

Shops are just trying to capitalise on a fad with completely unrealistic prices - I can't believe it costs much more to manufacture that bike than any equivalent XC bike. Strip it down and add up the value of the parts separately - you'll struggle to get to much more than your R15k without attaching a huge value to the frame. Then apply "the hub discount" and you will get to an even lower number.

It's pretty much been covered here. It's a fun bike, it's usually a second bike, people won't want to sell their main ride for another that they just don't really get, there are cheaper ones about to check, there are a lot for sale second hand now. Plus people in Jozi buy and get bored quick, they have too many toys.

That said, I think it's a good looking ride and would deffo check it. I guess you're negotiable now that you've said no one wants it! ;)

I think they look like a huge jol to ride. Would really like to have one as an every now and then bike. Which means I need to have all the other kinda bikes I want first, and I don't.

But love the look of your fat bike skipper. Must be good for training on with those big arse wheels.

It's a good price you'll sell it.

Personally if I was going to buy a "fun" bike I would get a DH rig. That being said I have to agree that 15k is a fair chunk of cash for a fun purchase.

Maybe some patience? You are not a retailer, you only have to sell 1 bike. Not many.

If you won the thing and not using it, it has no value to you. Therefore, whatever you sell it for is pure profit.

Flog the thing for 10 grand and get on with it.

Fatbikes really just are toys.

I bought a Spez in Jan. Loved it. Rode it for 3 months. Got bored. Sold it and lost R1000 over 3 months of fun.

Not bad.

I've lost more on 3 legged ponies ????
