Good morning All.

I recently took delivery of a Cube Stereo Race 140mm dual suspension bike and after a few rides this weekend here are my thoughts on this machine.

Firstly, i was nervous.

140 mm travel dual suspension with no Brain Technology (i was switching over from a 29r Specialized Epic), surely its going to bob up and down like a mad thing whilst pedalling?

Nope.

But its 650b, it wont be as fast as the 29r.

Nope.

It has a dropper seat post, it will turn me into an enduro rider type guy.

Maybe. :)

I had so much fun on the bike, the CTD suspension is a work of art, climbing the hills was quick and aggressive, the downhill technical rocky stuff was so easy.

It really felt like one bike to rule them all.

I absolutely love it. Great components, great bike, great price.

My Only negative criticism is that switching between shock modes is a bit of a pain, it requires a bit of fiddling whilst pedalling. HOWEVER, a remote handlebar switch is available to take care of this, i have one on order and will report back once it is fitted and abused.

If anyone is considering such a bike.... my advice is as follows:

I love my cube. Went from a 90mm travel stumpy HT to the 120mm travel Stereo HPC.

Was worried about being slow but it is not. The Cube puts a big smile on my face when pointing it down hill. Not that slow at climbing, faster than the HT on seriaaaas rocky climbs loads of grip.

Will also put a CTD switch on mine to change between decent and trail. This bike does not like to be in the climb setting.

Ok. So more feedback.

Cannot fit the remote lever as is.

Have to buy a compatible shock. So before I do anything stupid to existing rear shock...I am replacing it with the remote one.

Despite this little hurdle here is an update on my experience...

This is hands down the craziest and FUNNEST bike I have EVER OWNED.

I am truly in love with it.

Great value for money. Super fun. And makes me feel like I can ride anything.

If anyone is considering one and wants to take mine for a spin...you are most welcome. I am that stoked with it.

Flat29....when we getting together for some irresponsible fun?

ELDRON....THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

The list of people I trust gets smaller everyday. But you Sir, sit on the top of that list.

140mm buys you a lot of talent ;-)

You flatter me so Wayne!

I'm in danger of morphing from a Ninerphile into a Cubaholic!

What a machine! Pity about those flat pedals, though.

Ha ha...

I was expecting a response about the pedals...didnt think it would be that quick. :)

I normally ride clipped in, but i have been doing a lot of around the garden jumping and so on, so the flats are on temporarily.

Where did you buy it and how much did you pay?

I bought it fro Bicycle Supply Chain (ELDRON is the owner) and it was in the R50k bracket.

What you see in the pics is stock standard. No mods done....yet
