Entries for the 947 have closed earlier than normal this year.

The charity I'm riding for had said the seeding is currently underway and additions to the charity group can only be applied for between 18-23 September after the seeding has been completed.

That will explain why this race (R4V) is not going to be used.

That's fair, but then organisers of RV4 must not advertise that they are a seeding event....

I race VB and got seeded into EL!!!!!!!!

WTF!!!

The last time rode this race (2012), the seeding was also a stuff-up of note!!

doesn't sound right, have you checked ur index here? http://results.pedalpower.org.za/findme.aspx?ss=1

if that is below 30 mail Daleen and ask for a reseed

I wanted to downgrade to the 110 but because of prizes its its not allowed as I have full license, so il stay but my race no is $1     gonna be a long day if I get dropped

Why if it's under 30...?

no specific reason I know you need to be below 20 for Vets Racing

Below 30 should mean you are higher than EL.

My wifes  is in BL and hers is 44, but she is not racing

My index is about 13 - they did not look at Index, but only at your 2015 results.

Anyway I got back into VB after speaking to Jill.

Intention was to ride with my club in one of the open seeded groups.

AL-CL carries prize money - so no licensed rider will be allowed to start in those.

So either see you folk in DL or lower or in VB.

Only 2015 result used for my seeding is Jock Cycle classique stage 1? seems anything longer than 5 months was discarded.

Satisfied with CL, was hoping to be bit higher but will give a good indication where i stand after winter.

Index is 25.29 and I'm in FL. Seeding does not make sense at all. Had the same problem last year. Got to the race, collected numbers, asked for reseed and they refused. Took permanent marker, reseed myself, started in BL and finished 19th (in BL) after someone fell in front of me on the dirt section. Seems I'll be doing the same if they are not willing to reseed me.

As far as I can remember we had the exact same discussion on last year's thread about R4V

Yip, something wrong. My index is a lowly 27.75   and I'm in AL?

I recon they just assign random number to everyone, and use that for seeding indexes.

Ok, more serious speculation: they not using racetec to do the seedings, and they have a very small subset of race results? Then it is possible that they have none of the races you have raced in Hennie.

I think that some transparency from race organisers on how they arrive at your seeding would go along way. E.g. If In the email sent with your seeding, they should include something that say: We used the results for race X, Y, Z to calculate your index of  17.8. Group A = 0 > 20, group B 20 > 30 etc. Then you will know exactly why you are, and it is easy to figure if something is wrong, what it is.

Maybe they seed you as you enter. If you entered early then you are in the front. If you enter two hours before the entries close then you ride with me in FL
