FatBike Tubeless

Depends on the rims. If they've got cutouts like the Spez ones you'll probably run into trouble, but if they're solid a layer of gaffer tape will do the job. You'll need to do one either side since you don't get tape wide enough, but it's an easy enough job.

My Big Ed runs tubeless. Bit of an issue with burping. Still take a tube - those big sidewalls can cut. THE PERFECT TULI BIKE!

Buy 18" motorcycle inner tube slit and stretch over the rim (getto style). Bomb proof just build up rim close to edge of the rim to stop the tyre from slipping into the middle of the rim.

I am wanting to get one for the Tour de Tuli, but was told you cannot convert a fatty to tubeless.... I call BS?? Help!

The Gabs bike shops that sponsor Tour de Tuli can help, as they've done it a few times for fatbike customers in Bots.

PM me if you want further details.

Should be no problem. Running my Fatty WITH cut-outs tubeless...

Just use the wide gorilla tape available.

do you tape over the rim strip if you have the cut outs, or is the tacky side of the gorilla tape just exposed.

fyi, started using jaffa tape and it is cheaper, works a charm and comes in orange.

Just out of curiosity - what does the tube of one of these things weigh? I'm going to try the tubeless thing this week as "they" say you can lose up to 1kg if you take the tubes out...

All are above 400g. Some are way more. I had to walk home AGAIN this weekend. Kinda tyres DO NOT do well tubeless.

 Sondela????

Burping or thorns??
