DHL and CRC

I am a bit irratated now with CRC.

Firstly in december I ordered some items with CRC and elected to make use of DHL knowing their reputation etc.

My package arrived, delivery date sent out and nothing. 4 or 5 days later and nothing. I contact DHL and CRC and immediately my package arrives no reason apart from a refund for transport. I think cool etc.

Now in March I order some more stuff but elect to make use of normal postage seeing my mishap with DHL, well I am on my third replacement order and still nothing. According to the post office Head office nothing has come into the country and according CRC it has been sent out, so well I will wait.

Last week my friends and I decided we need alot of stuff and place a huge order with them. Elect DHL again as the delivery etc. Well the goods are going 5 days sitting at DHL, and no reply. No reply from CRC either. It was supposed to have been delivered already.

At the same time I ordered goods from JensonUsa On monday, it arrived yesterday!! as per like they say guaranteed delivery and a date next to it.

I think CRC has seen the last of me.

Firstly, CRC cant be blamed for our postal service.

What do you mean 5 days sitting at DHL? Do you have the tracking number? Whats does the website say?

According to the tracking number it has arrived sat. everyday since then I get an update that says clearance event. I am not blaming CRC for the postal service I thought I could avoid the poor service by making use of DHL but it just seems worst

so the package in in SA, DHL has a million shipments to clear through customs, so it could take a few days, no problem, they dont even charge you for clearing Customs (The R150 fee is nothing for a Customs clearance)

That's BS.  I use DHL for international shipments for work.  It gets cleared immediately and I often receive delivery of the stuff on the same day that the plane touches down.

Call DHL with your tracking number and give them grief.  It's got nothing to do with CRC.

Fault is with DHL... Capricorn and I have both had infinite grief with DHL and their shoddy consumer service. It seems as if they treat their private consumers like poo, taking Dirtypot's comments into account.

Rock:

1) DHL has nothing to do with 'our postal service'. That's SAPO.

2) DHL is a paid-for, premium priced, priority service. Its their stated goal to NOT take days to send stuff. They are not 'our postal service'.

No, I get crap service too  :whistling:

"clearance event" is a joke - it could, and does, mean anything.

Calling and shouting at somebody always makes things better though.  And sometimes it also helps to get your package to you as well...

100% on point 1, but I was referring to the OP's shipment in March where he has an unpleasant experience with SAPO.

DHL seems to have a lot of love and hate stories about them. luck of draw. UPS seem to be more consistent in my experience.

either way the chap shouldn't blame CRC for DHL's failure.

Thing is, they shouldn't. They're a premium service.

I've also had bad experiences sending my passport with DHL. Late, no notifications, nobody could tell me anything... eventually had to go to the depot and shake it out of them.

Thats exaclty it. It is a premium service and as an individual I should experience this. As a business we do not have any issues with DHL

Man, I loved UPS. they were just such a pleasure to deal with. After my many many unhappy dealings with DHL, I asked CRC to reconsider their situation, and switch back to UPS. All in vain of course. But a guy can hope, right?

*sigh*

Commiserations Eddy Gordo. and good f'ing luck.

btw: contact michelle.derek@dhl.com. She works in their customer service department. Get on the horn and start blowing. They need to purge the cape town branch of DHL with a flame thrower

Needed to get a replacement kindle from the states to here and decided to try DHL.

They refused to help me unless I had an account. They have the worst customer service in the world, period!!!!!

Agreed!

I have had similar problems with DHL. Two days for package to get from Dublin to Cape Town and then wait. After day 2 I asked what the hold was and boom suddenly cleared.

Still Im not entirely upset, four days is not bad for international shipping.
