WOW! that must be worth a mint !!

campy record dont come cheap !

Yip, my suggestion to Didi was looking at possibly breaking it up... the frame might fetch a decent price on eBay, while the wheels and the groupset should be easy enough to sell here. Anyone willing to give some pricing idea's on the groupset and the wheels?

I have to be honest and say I'm not familiar with the bike, but of it originally came with the campag record groupset, then you would loose value splitting it up. As for its value and/or collectability it's hard to say. But I think if you speak to most campag specialists they will say that 10 speed groupset is probably one of the best campag have ever made. I think before she sells it a bit more research should be done. It's looks in very good condition. The right buyer and she should get a good price.

Agree with Quinton that 10 speed Campy Record is one of the best groupsets ever made. If it was originally specced like that, then keep bike and groupset together.

All the builds I found online were Dura Ace with Mavic wheels, and chatting with Didi, I got the impression they got the frame from a friend with BMW connections, and then chose the spec of build. I really don't think there is any link between frame and this specific spec, but would be happy to be proven wrong - it's always sad to split up a bike. (I have though looked a good fair bit into all this  ;)) The mediocre stem and handle bar lend them self to this argument too. The other builds I saw also had a bmw headset cap, which this doesn't.

It's some great kit as many have mentioned, but unless you are a BMW Williams nut, the frame offers really little in terms of performance etc and lets down the package. It was made by Falcon from what I read up and in terms of modern day performance and weight etc, this is in my view simply a frame for a collector... probably more Formula 1 than cycling too, considering there is no real pedigree in BMW bicycles. (I'm guessing here, but please advise if I'm incorrect)

There was one build sold online for $3000, but there was another listing where the seller seemed to get no real interest at half that price. The right buyer really needs to be found, but that can take a lot of time etc that Didi might not be interested in.

I will chat with Didi some more about her options - if anyone has any more input and some sensible views on the pricing etc for the package or the bike split up, please feel free to share

At the end of the day I just want Didi to get the most out of this - making some collector happy too would be an added bonus!

I have a BMW Williams F1 road bicycle which belonged to my late husband. I believe it is too heavy for racing and would like to know if anybody might be interested. It is similar to the attached picture. And do not ask me to tell you about components etc - I'm a complete idiot when it comes to the techie bike bits. I just believe it is wasted in my house if there is someone out there that can appreciate it. I can send actual pictures to anybody that would like to see.

Still for sale ? Mail me: stevensluc@yahoo.com of call 0032/498/35.20.54
