Let's put this all into a bit of perspective ............

The prize categories for the VG "20km RACE" on Sat were

Nipper boys and girls (10 and under)

Sprog boys and girls (11-12)

Open ladies and men

So in all reality it is a race for kids as they are not permitted to ride longer distances. And race they do. My son lost out on a podium due to an adult blocking him in the last technical section of the race and telling him to wait. But am I here ranting about him being disappointed NO I merely told him to ride faster next time and make sure he gets in front of the slow adults!

On a side note............ The nippers were dropped to B batch on Sat to make way for more "technically able" adults in A batch despite this being THEIR RACE.

And yes I too rode, fell 6 times did some major damage to my elbow and used the race to learn a lot, help kids where they needed it and generally prove to my racing snake son that I too can ride (epic fail there )

So if kids were in your way, please ensure you rapidly progress to the half marathon as they are not allowed to race that distance until they are 13!

"My one Friend, Nicolette, fell 4 times on Saturday, all because of children."Apart from all the other posts which are pretty much spot on maybe try a skills clinic. Wiping out 4 times would seem to indicate your friend has bigger problems than kids.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Man oh man. Thanks. This is poef funny.

Agreed 100% my brother also started in B due to adults having better seeding and he was 3rd in sub juniors. So maybe the adults should start at the back after all the children finished then they can ride at their own pace

I hate it when people come onto the hub, post something controversial without introducing themselves, and then run away like a coward.  No manners.  It is like a guy who enters a stuffy crowded room, lets a fart go and then leaves, closing the door.

A race is a race... Elbows out, prison rules...! Don't let some 6 year old tell you what's what, or get in your way. Bite the lil bastard and tell him his mom's fat. Gain that psychological advantage and while the brats are balling their eyes out over that 'feelings' nonsense, you attack...!!!

Wooooowww......stop the bus. There is a big difference between the two. One post controversial people act as if it is an emergency........a fart is usually an emergency (specially those with a lubrication sound to them).

Please make use of better analogies and/or examples. Us old farts can be a bit constipated about people jumping to irrelevant ASSumptions and myopic opinions.

To be fair I've only done that in a crowded room of people I don't like, or friends.

Totally agree, I once came 7th in a 20km MTB race, 4 of those who beat me were youngsters, had they started off in their own group after me I would have got 3rd place and R50 prize money.
