All this proves is we are idiots on this forum. My proof is fewer than 10% of people that participated in the poll think Gatlin ever doped when he actually served a 4 year ban from 2006 to 2010. That means 90% of people got that wrong. I will treat the rest of the opinions here with due suspicion.

33 out of 59 votes doesn't equal 10% (the poll giving that stat is a bit confusing I will admit)... and you might well find a good 30% of hubber's don't know who Gatlin is. For anyone who wants to know, he's the guy back from his doping ban and running the fastest times of this entire career at the ripe old age of 33

He's also currently the fastest man in the world in 2015  :whistling:

yes I see this thread has deteriorated from minor baseless prejudice

to just really sad major baseless prejudice which isn't even witty

happy Friday guys

Feel free not to follow the discussion... nobody is holding a gun to your head  ;)

I though do find it interesting that 48 out of 59 voters find Pierre Spies suspect. Why is that? Are questions being asked? Why are other athletes performances not scrutinized to anything like the level of top cyclists?

If there is a sport where they don't dope, I would like to know about it please. Even the chess players take Ritalin, the shooting sports use B Blockers, the bowls bunch are vrot with Viagra. ;)

Let's play another game: You name the sport.....I'll name the preferred drug!

Serena is the only guy I wont share a urinal with.

Doping in other sports, HELLS yes! I would say that to some sort of degree, all of them. The more physical the greater the doping.

Rugby - Look how Jantjies swelled up in the last few months.

Soccer - Bale ARMS

Tennis - read above (I hope The Serena never reads this and finds me)

NBA - LOL

Baseball - LOLLER

NFL - LOLLEST

Athletics - Wahahahahahahaha Look how many guys have been banned just this year. FAR outweighs cycling.

Cycling is not clean, but its not nearly as dirty as other sports. It just has a massive magnifying glass on it because of things like Festina and Lance.

Can we put School Boy / Varsity Rugby in there as well. I was chatting to a family friend who is involved with WP / Stormers and he was saying that it's a massive problem for them scouting the kids in those competition because juicing is more common than not.

I'm with you re school rugby. Just look at any high school rugby game. Pitch up before the 1st teams are playing - you'll recognise the players beforehand as the ones looking down (literally) on everybody else! They are MASSIVE, even backline players.

Then look at the pressures from young age. I was at a primary school game the other day, just taking some pics, amongst others of the u9's. They're u9 (St 1 in our time) and the verbal from next to the field is just unreal. There were dads next to the field shouting more than most people do during a Bok game. And very little that will constitute "positive encouragement".

In 2011, they tested across a range of our top rugby schools... 21 out of 130 samples were positive

Its actually pathetic how some dads and moms get about it.

Do they realize that they are only making their kids hate the game and them to a certain degree by behaving like this and the pressure they put on their kids.

Dear Dad, you son will NOT become the next Naas not matter how much you push him!

And even if he does, he will thank god when he wins, not you

In a similar vein to the below article... the Maritzburg college pack this year was bigger than the 1995 World Cup winning pack ;)
