from all  the advice here it might be a better bet to  just get a proper 650b frame or a whole new bike, wheels fitting seems to  only be half of the problem

People told me not to put a 150mm fork on my steel hardtail. I said screw it and did it. So glad I did. I wouldn't want to put you off as I'm not into squashing dreams. There are ways of testing for this scenario. If its an air fork you just ditch all the air out. If its a coil fork its a little more involved but not impossible. Do your due diligence though and you'll be fine.

I've just converted my 26" Turner 5 Spot to 650b.  I have a Fox Talas fork on and with all the air out I cannot get the crown to get anywhere near the wheel.  I did have to fit a 2.1 tyre on the back but it is still plenty bigger than the 26" 2.2 tyre that I was on and there is about 10mm clearance alround at the back.

Did you try fitting a 2.4 wide 26 inch tyre?

More or less the same as a 2.25 27.5

Yip, I think the OP should have done some homework before buying a set of 650b wheels.  Could be a set of 650b wheels in the classifieds soon.

Neither is mine. But it works. Just because it is not on the interwebs, doesn't mean it's not possible.

The 650B conversion of my wife Cotic Soul works beautiful.

the conversion on the Mojo sl was less successful. tyre clearance in mud is not enough.

I have just converted my SC blur Trc to a 650b and it is the best thing i ever did...the runs great, never bottoms out and im a heavy chap @ 118kg.

Poor mans 650b is to use nice wide 26" tyres on 26" wheels, added benefit is ability to run lower tyre pressure and therefore less rolling resistance(on off road trails riding)and more comfortable ride, win/win for you buddy!!

Not too sure on the frame, but your fork will work. I use a Suntour XCR and it fits fine. Out of respect for my bike, I don't ride in mud, so clearance for mud is not an issue for me.

I use 2.1 tyres both front and back. I have a Scott hardtail.

From someone that likes tinkering with different things and will listen to what others suggest and then decide for myself :-

I have been riding a full suspension converted bike since sometime in 2012 with no problems at all but I would have the following to say, if the wheels fit and you want to do it and you don't ride in heavy mud just do it and see what it's like!

If it's your only bike and you sometimes may ride in mud then don't.

Just my experience, use it don't use it .....

Did it on my rocky Mountain. Work well except if the jumps get big. Then it rub on the back just below the seat post...... But and there is always a but. 26 still is the best on a trail. Believe me been there done that
