Been to Enduro at Hakahana and saw that 90% was using Tyre Juice.

Spoke to Paul at Epic Sports and they now just stock Tyre Juice.

Hatfield Cycles recommend Tyre Juice. They even say "mix it with No Flats (that blue stuff)"

Any Comments/Feedback?

I am tired of Stans as I always end up with a rubber ball in a week. No bombs, no leaks, nothing!

I've been using Tire Juice with good success. At the Price (~R70 for 500ml which is enough for around 4 29er wheels) I'm now also regularly redoing my tubeless to ensure everything is still OK.

Only Issue I found is that it tends to dry up quickly when using a tire that is on the porous side, but eventually the sealant actually blocks most holes and this problem does not persist.

I must add that Stan's works very well, but if you make a stuff-up and loose sealant it becomes a very expensive exercise.

I'm also tired of Stans! Needing regular refilling even if you get no punctures, it is the best though.

Some of these hybrid slime sealants seem to have a tendency for the fibre/bits that block the holes/punctures to seperate from the fluid, leaving a thin watery fluid with the fibre/bits stuck on the sidewalls, which makes them very ineffective. The fluid is just there to carry the fibre/bits to the hole, it doesn't have any hole blocking properties in of itself.

I have had that experience with PS2 and heard another hubber complaining about the identical thing happening with Tyre Juice. They start off strong and working well for the first few weeks and then it appears once the centrifugal forces in a spinning tyre have worked on the sealant for a while the fibre/bits get thrown out of the fluid and deposited on the sidewalls and some on the upper casing. I also had the experience of a full 2 doses of the fluid leaking out of the side walls and leaving just dry fibre/bits behind inside the tyre.

Have been using this for a while now and had similar results.

When you fill the tire it is clear to see the fiber/particle content which is supposed to seal holes.

Had a couple of flats (small holes) that just kept squirting juice until i plug them, or they take forever to seal so you run out of juice quickly.

I love stans but yes you have to topup/clean you tires frequently.

I am starting to use it, works great with road tubes. Even gets past the presta valve without blocking it.

where in Durban do you find this stuff ?

AGREE !!

Bought some because of the price - Had a couple of flats (small holes) that just kept squirting juice until i plug them, or they take forever to seal so you run out of juice quickly.

And even when it seals - it will later blow out again - and because it keeps squirting out, everything is covered in the stuff !!! and eventually the tyre is empty.

As soon as you hit a harder bump, fly down rocky descent or increase tyre pressure - it starts to leak again. And I am talking about small holes where the reamer (plug is too big to fit)

Crap Crap Crap - I need something dependable - and this stuff on its own is too runny with not enough filler/fiber bits.

In my opinion (after using my 2 litres of the stuff) its crap on its own

(now adding two-thirds stans and other fiber/particles just to use up the crap tyre-juice I still have..

My take on any tire juice with my tubeless experience spanning from early 2010.

I ride in places very few others do, mostly because I work in weird places. Places like south east Madagascar and Tanzania where heat and humidity is a daily thing. Routes that are filled with potholes, corrugation, thorns (big ones, black 2"and as hard as nails), sand, mud and a little bitumen here and there. I have used Hutchinson Python, various Maxxis and WTB tyres of various sizes, but generally the type that will be befitting for the type of routes I rode.

Stans is convenient and almost available everywhere. Yes I need to top up and yes I also get the rubber ball now and then. But, I only hear the rubber ball and I almost never see them. Once I fitted my tires I do not take them off unless its time to replace. In terms of performance, Stans get me home with little fuss unless the leak is on the sidewall.

Joe's too is pretty much on par with Stans in both performance and price. There are a number of different small brand stuff looking, smelling and behaving similar to Stans and Joe's, but it is not so readily available. Some are more sticky, some are more watery, but in general they are all in the same league.

That blue stuff. Although it may be cheap, its rubbish. I do not think this is even worth using in tyres with tubes. Almost all that watery stuff with the fibers is absolute rubbish. Just don't get them.

The stuff I wish we get more easily and the stuff I believe is the best (based on where I used and the reliability to get me home) is Effetto Caffelatex. Your tire bumping on the road let this stuff form a foam and fill the complete cavity of the tire. That way centrifugal force doesn't apply to the outer extremes of the tire only and therefore the sidewalls are protected too. This really is excelent stuff. It is just a pity it is not so readily available.

I have had only one occurrence where my tire juice did not and never would have worked. The juice rely on the remaining tire structure to form the plug, but if one ride over something that cuts a complete clean hole, nothing will work. I once rode through the port of Cape Town and collected a drilling burr. A clean 3mm hole was a definitive match to Stans at the time. After a long walk home I learned to carry grommets as spares.
