How often do you guys wash your bikes - i mean hose down or pressure wash leading to water getting in the top of the post? I recon this and riding in very wet conditions is probably what causes the problem.

This ^^^ and storing the bike with the post down. It's not designed to stay "compressed" the whole time.

As for cleaning. Wet wipes after a short ride. Dirty rides I wash. Have one of those weed sprayers which I sealed the safety value off to get higher pressure. Uses 2lt of water and that little bit goes a long way to get most grime out then finish with little soap water and chamois.

Also grease the post every 3 rides depending...

Funny you say that, I leave my post down most of the time while the bike is resting. So far no issues. But its mostly been a fair weather bike and I wash once or so.

Definitely post up when you aren't riding or the bike is stored. That applies to all hydraulic dropper posts.

Anyone know the measurements for the Giant 100mm travel option.

The distance between top of seat post clamp to saddle rail minimum measurements. For instance the Lynne website says 163mm for their 100mm option. If the Giant is less I will go for that.

Reason for question is I'm trying to equip my wife's Zula with a dropper post and it has a rather long seat tube, and she is not tall.

Measuring off a scaled image of the 100mm post, it seems to be between 155-160mm. Lynne would be my first choice though. Perhaps measure her current set up to check if you could squeeze the Lynne in.

Thx, the Lynne wont fit without some frame modification (read cutting) and based on your measurements The Giant would require the same.

Completely different price range, but KS do a 100mm Lev with a very short post. It is the only one that was able to fit into my girlfriends bike.

Edit: I realize now the exposed bit is the problem not the inserted bit, never mind.

How much room do you have for cutting ?

If the collar is going to be on the frame , then cutting a bit off should not be A problem but it depends on how close you're going to get to that weld

77mm +- on mine from bottom of collar to middle of saddle rial

This is the gen 2 dropper

He's asking for the length in the extended/up position. Therefore a 100mm 2nd gen Giant would be 177mm.
