Bike set-up

Hi

I never had a bike set-up done in my hole life. I always just google a few easy steps to adjust the bike more or less accordingly to my body.

I am definitely not a pro rider.

Will it be worth going for a set-up? How do I know I am getting it done properly, because I have heard every bike shop has its own way of doing it?

I have not been to 1 either, and have been adjusting bits n bobs as I went along. So far I have been pain free, until last Saturday when I did a 83km with a bit more hills, and for some reason I killed my lower back.

Have done similar rides in the past and never had pain like this, so my only way to get this sorted is to have a proper set up done.

Go to a qualified person, If you going to spend money on this sport, bike fit should be first on your list. Wish I did years ago! Ive used Debbie Stopforth in Tokai, she is a Bio Kineticist and knows her stuff. I'm sure the Bellvile okes will tell you who the guru's are in that area.

That's because we are still waiting for you to come and ride with East Coast Cycling, Vivek!

You may want to try Deno van Heerden in Ballito - https://www.facebook.com/performancebikefit1

Setup might not be the cause of your lower back pain.

What are your other rides like?

Hi Guys, I was in the same boat and then went for a proper bike fit with Cycle Fit, I thought I had it right until I went. It is probably the best money you can spend as they sort out all the problem areas. It just makes cycling so much more enjoyable and efficient. Highly recommended

Did one with Irma @ Flexia in Durbanville. Best thing I did. Also trial and errored my way through but I'm should have done it a long time ago.

If you can... go for a proper fit.
