is Cadence cycling a good place to start ?

I have heard good things about Cadence in Jhb.  I am with their competition (cyclezone), as it's closer to my house, but I don't think there's a huge difference in what they offer.

You do need to go for an FTP test first, which costs ZAR250-odd and hurts like #$%^@##.

If you have an HRM, you can use it.  Mine's broken, so I don't bother.  You're focusing on the power and cadence anyway.

Go for it.

Have the 38mm DH wheels, very light, responsive and very happy!

Spares available and upgraded the hub to 11spd recently, easy hub replacement on the Bitex.

Back to this. Anyone using these 50mm clincher Darkhouse Wheels with the Bitex hubs ? Opinions ??

Hi Vivek - I've ridden the DH 50mm clinchers with a G3 power tap for the past 16 months and have been very happy with the combination. Great value for money as my training, racing, raining, wind-blowing, cruising, coffee shop riding set-up.

Im following this thread closely.. I've got some questions too

Im in the same situation regarding a PM and/or a wheelset. Ive got Force 22 so stages is out so ive been thinking hub based or crank based with a quarq system.

*Pedals are way too expensive and the problem with a hub based system is on which wheels do you built it? Ive got some options tho:

*Powertap wheelset for R 19995

http://www.bicyclepower.co.za/product/powertap-g3-amp-35-wheels/

Or

*I could also get a set of darkhorse wheels and then build them onto a powertap hub, this will be about R21000

*Powertap crank seems unavailable at present

*Stages only makes a Rival crank arm which is not going to fit too lekker with the force, or is it just me? Cost is about R10 000

*Quarq is about R12 100 +15.4% and some admin fees as its coming from merlincycles

I've also been riding the darkhorse 50mm wheels, love them. Very light and responsive. They were supposed to be race wheels only, but since they made it onto my bike they haven't come off again

If u have Dura-ace or red22, I recommend stagespowermeter. Otherwise nope..

Bec u can buy it but not easy to sell that....

And if u r willing to buy WKO+ or Trainingpeaks premium and training regularly, then buy a powermeter :)

Stages does not make a meter for carbon cranks like Red and Force, hence me saying Ill need to get a rival stages meter to fit on my force 22. the looks will just be off

Also consider power2max.

Where is power2max available?

Im leaning towards crank based because then any wheelset will be fine

Power2max are clearing stock at the moment. Check their website as they do direct sales only.

Just got my Power2max plus cranks for the small sum of 8900. Amazing value. Works like a dream!
