Waiting for the pics Furbz ... Pleaseeeee. Suspense is killing.

Don't be like THE GREEN GOBLIN whom we still waiting on for the link to the comments that the P thrown at Froomey was a figment of his imagination.

It sounds like your bike is less than 6months old. If so, the CPA gives you the option of a full refund. Get your money back and buy a brand that offers you the colour you want.

I am also the type of person who buys a bike for its looks. I would be pretty passed if the warranty gave me something I didn't like.

There is that I suppose, you'll be jumping through hoops for weeks though, I personally wouldn't.

Also had a frame swingarm warrantied, frame was white/red/black and the replacement was black /lumo green. Also got the same explanation as has been discussed, they can't keep all colourways of every model. Bike was still awesome so I carried on enjoying it. Can imagine you bike must be sick so please don't let matt paint ruin your ride, it's just not worth it.

The solution is to get the replacement part wrapped in gloss(or matt) vinyl, will protect the potentially delicate matt paint and make it gloss black as before. You can even do it yourself with a heat gun, very easy, Maizey plastics sells 1m of vinyl for around R50. Problem solved [emoji4]

i also have chatted with a few guys, one oke had the black inc frame.

it cracked and they could not replace that like for like either..

thats around 100k if i'm correct??

he also bitched and moaned and got nowhere...

so sorta like marrying the woman of your dreams; only when you get to the bridal suite you find you actually married her ugly sister..

its tempting, however when you buy the bike you do agree to the terms of their warranty. something you don't think of when you buy the bike

i think we can all agree the blue model looks miles better than the rather bland matt black one...

i had this (the blue one)

It still looks lekker Furbz. I had my eye on a blue and white Synapse carbon frame for 2 years. Eventually the day came that I could buy it, only to see that it was a used frame hanging amongst the new frames. I was really disappointed, as the only other colour they had at the time was matt black.

I mentioned that I would consider painting it, but the laaitie in the bike shop begged me to first ride it for a bit, before deciding to paint it.

8 years later I still smaak my matte black 'Dale.

Not so...the terms of their warranty cannot be in contravention of the law, if it is the law overrides

I think you will find that the Cannonade agents have done every thing the law demands from them.

Metal doesn't crack? I cracked a Kona chromoly frame. Mate of mine cracked an aluminium 'dale.

They all crack. It's nice to have a pretty bike but it's nicer to just have a bike.

ok, lets do some maths.

i'm 27.

lets say i keep riding bikes til i am 67.

so 40 years total.

my road bike was bought for me by my father. i've had it 10 years.

now i doubt that a mtb would last 10 years. so lets say i keep it for 4 years.

4/40 gives 10% of my mountain biking experience

So, i pay close on R40k to ride a mountain bike i dislike greatly for conservatively, 10% of my mountain biking career. with the only option available being to fork out another small fortune for the Hi-mod frame version that i definitely do not need.

Seem fair?

Not sure I agree. It is evident that color was an important consideration in the purchase decision. The consumer has not actually got what he wanted an paid for. A refund should be offered and allow the consumer to then make the decision. That's just good business.

I feel for your situation but really dude. Stop bitching and have a custom paint job done.

I don't get your pain unfortunately, but then again I don't colour match my kit with my bikes. I honestly don't know what matt bike you had previously that scratched that bad but we had a Scott Pro 29er for two years and no scratch issues. I now have a Ghost road bike also matt black and no issues.

Really we get your pain but make peace with it and move on....if need be never buy a Cannondale although you got excellent service. First world problems
