Need some help finding a slow leak on a tubeless tire. From 2.2 bar to around 0.5 ish bar it takes around 48 hrs to drop.

I have not tried anything yet but my gut tells me it’s the valve that is not tight enough, so thinking of turning the valve in around 1.5 turns

Tubeless was done around 4 weeks ago and no issues, only started Saturday.

I inspected wheel and see no stuff stick in it like thorns and wheel has lots of sealant.

Note its getto tubeless with duct tape

Sometimes when filling sealant through the valve, it stuffs the valve from returning properly to it's closed position. That happened to me, was an even slower leak, like took a week, but it was immediately obvious dunked in the pool where it was coming from. Undid the valve and clean it out problem gone.

I had the same issue on my wife's wheels, the duct tape reacted with the sealant in lifted of the rim, I suggest you replace the duct tape

I agree. Most often a leak that does not seal with a ride is from the tape.  Usually you will see the air escaping from the valve area because the nipples become  "airtight" with sealant/grime.  The right width of tape is important and real Gorilla tape (not duct tape) is the answer for the ghetto conversion.

The local camping store in West Rand only stocks the 'camo' gorilla tape...am I right in assuming gorilla tape is gorilla tape regardless of colour etc before I shell out R170 for a roll?

As Ben said above, pump it up to high pressure, something like 4bar and dunk it in the pool, the problem should reveal itself.

How hard depends on the rim, if I pump my Geax tyres fitted on WTB rims to 4 bar they'll pop off.

agree, its probably not the valve but that is the logical place the air will escape if there is an issue with the tape somwhere else.

Re-do is probably your answer and be carefull when putting tyres on...you don't want to compromise the tape by being hard with the tyre levers.

The real tape is branded and made in the USA.  The handy roll is 1" X 30' (25mm X 9m) and usually retails for around R100.  I sell them for R90-00.  Ideal for I 23 mm rims.  The 40mm is much longer and relatively cheaper but has to be cut.  Price wise there is not much in it between Gorilla and standard tape.
