HELP!!! Shimano Ultegra STI Spring

 

Please help guys I have a new set of Ultegra 10 Speed Sti's and the shifter spring has gone on the left STI.

 

I know that the bike shops are reluctant to open these up but really it is just one spring that came loose and I refuse to believe that the spring is unavailable and that there is no one in the country who can replace it.

 

If there is anyone who can help out with a spring from an otherwise broken shifter and any advice on who could fix this I would be most appreciative.

 

This shifter would cost around R1400 to replace for the sake of a R2.00 spring!!!

I had a similar issue, went to the hardware store and took the old spring with me and managed to find a similar sized one. The tricky part was getting the mechanism lined up properly. Worked 100% after that

You better believe it. I'm sure it's in the T&Cs when you buy Shimano. Spend your R1400 on some Campy bling that your grandchildren will still be able to service in 50 years from now.
