SeaBee Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Ferret what are you doing running 100km weeks already? So 2 days till entries open, who has decided to pull the trigger this time round? Seabee hope you are in this year.Nooo dude, I am leaning towards maaayyybe doing the Oceans, but nothing longer than that on road. Did a longish road run last weekend... I am so not used to it! Previous weekend's longer run with over 1000m elevation, but in the mountain was much more enjoyable! First I must survive this Cape Town Marathon thingie I got myself into. Lexx 1
Ferret69 Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Just Pulled the Trigger on Oceans and Comrades... and Booked accom for both.. But first Point of call, Cape Town Marathon in 2 weeks, and then Kaapsehoop and Lesotho Ultra Trail 50km. Also sorted an Entry for London Marathon 2017 so going to be a busy year... (8 days after Oceans ) Lexx, ScottCM, Andrew Steer and 1 other 4
SwissVan Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 *** is sitting on the couch watching it when you could of been running...Agree, but maybe stick to shorter distances?
SwissVan Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 (edited) In SW case, being at the finish line for his wife when he could have been running alongside her.6 times......As for running along side...... We might end up fighting Edited September 1, 2016 by SwissVan ScottCM 1

Boston is on my bucklet list..but I have to knock off 5 mins on my PB first The Secretary at my Running Club has a side Business that takes tours to a lot of the Big City marathons. London with Flights and 3 Days 4* hotel accom, and all the xtra Little bells and whistles like a SA Running Vest, Bag, someone to look after your stuff while running, pre race route tour etc was just under R29k Its more the fact that its a guaranteed entry, no raising charity money or waiting lists.. Was Gonna do New York Marathon with them in November but that entry alone is 12k.
Andrew Steer Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Agree, but maybe stick to shorter distances? They're not the Comrades ******** marathon Trust me, aside from somewhere around the 65/70km mark (when you will hate whoever talked you into this for a minute or two), this is one decision you will never regret Lexx and SwissVan 2

Then if you are 20mins quicker than the age based Minimum Qualifier you pretty much guaranteed an entry Edited September 1, 2016 by Ferret69 Stretch 1
