Woke up this morning not feeling up to what was going to be a difficult intervals session...4 X 1mi in 6 min.... Did my first and was feeling the burn... Started the second and just felt dead so I pulled out and immediately felt a little twinge...i ran on it slowly and let it ease up for a few minutes then tried another short speed interval... But pulled up lame after a few hundred metres.... Ran it slowly back home and immediately found a physio for tomorrow morning... But really frustrated and hope it's just a little twinge that can be rubbed out.

My question is... Do I continue with my tempo sessions tomorrow and Thursday.... Or run it easy instead... Or just rest.

I know what you're all gonna say!

I'm well into my program now and feel guilty already about missing today's intervals!

Rest, with an ice cold beer in the right hand and feet up on the sofa....

A question to all the old hands (or should that be feet) on this thread.

I've recently started dabbling with running and must say I enjoy it quite a bit. I'm building up my distance, but my current PB is 17km at 5:01m/km, which I think is decent. My goal is to complete the Amsterdam Half Marathon in October at the same pace (or even a tad faster).

Now, I currently have a pair of Saucony Koa TRs, recommended to me after a foot/running analysis. I have very flat feet, but apparently I don't struggle with stability.

Can someone here recommend some nice shoes for a flat footed chap (which I can look into once the current pair is worn down? I'm looking for a nice big toe box and wide sole. I really enjoy the Sauconys, but would like to see what other options there are.

Thanks y'all.

My wife has flat feet and recently got Hoka Arahi's, she loves them.

I'm not sure about the toe box but I'm sure the sole is pretty wide.

Best advice so far!.. I'm in Dublin this week.. So it might be a Guinness at the pub

Ignore Lexx's advise and HTFU.

I woke up this morning with a semi stuffed nose and right lower back pain. I already gave yesterday a skip, so I'm going to put this old body of mine through a slowish "test" run to see how it is holding up...

My mind is in the gutter, but that is one of the best descriptions of a woman I have read for a long time.......

My mind is clearly not in the gutter.... Or I'm to busy worrying about my hammie

Drink lots of beer, it deadens the mind to the pain.  Rub in lots of ICE MAN or Arnica oil which will deaden the pain a bit.  Consider drinking lots of MSM or Omega oils and magnesium.  Stretch lightly.

26" for me - I think I should run faster but I'm struggling at the moment. It's gonna take a while the way I feel currently, a serious lack of motivation.

After my run yesterday, it seems like the motivation is back :-)

I'm still lacking in that department. I just don't feel that motivated anymore. Maybe I need to do other types of runs like a Trail Ultra run etc.. Just to get off the tar a bit.

I think it's due to needing to 'cram' leading up to my race in September. Feeling forced in a way but it still felt good.
