EVENT DESCRIPTION

Together we can reach out to those in need and make a difference! All finishers will receive a medal!

Meals on Wheels Cycle Event is an event that strives to bring relief to the Vaal Triangle’s less fortunate and elderly. Meals on Wheels Cycle Event was first initiated to provide for the elderly, but has since expanded to help those who aren’t able to provide for themselves, those who earn no or very little income, child-headed households, orphans and the disabled. The Route will be properly marked and marshalls will be located at strategic points.

Waterpoints will be provided as follows: One on the 45km route and Three on the 90km route.

A compulsory pre-race briefing will be held 30 minutes prior to the start at the START.

A map of the route will be on display at registration.

All participants must familiarise themselves with the course layout.

Prizegiving will take place at the finish venue once the results have been verified.

Medical assistance will be provided.

Safe parking at venue.

All Cycling South Africa (GSA) rules apply for 45km and 90km entrants: No chip! No results! Number Collection:

Cycle Lab Megastore, Fourways;

Friday 18 September 2015, from 13:00 – 16:00

OR

At the Venue, Sedhaven, Heidelberg;

Sunday 20 September 2015, from05:30 – 07:30

whats in the race pack bmw? picking mine up at the start tomorrow, there is just no way that I can make it to fourways during the week.

.bright neon green rain jacket ... creams and soap and stuff, jacket is cool

It was pretty windy on the short lido loop this morning. Nothing impossible though. Rain won't be ideal though.

Nevertheless, see all y'all tomorrow...

I don't think I've ever ridden in such hectic wind. Last year it was bad but this year a reckon it was worse. That rivaled Argus 09!!!!! Had entered single but changed my mind this week to do tandem. My upper body is actually quite sore from fighting the bike. Looked like Rossi cornering at some stages.

Iv done this race last 4 years and it grew a lot this year.

Anyway we ended up with a 2hr 32min.

Like him cornering, knee down, but along a straight road.

After turning left at the T-junction to head back towards the Karee Kloof entrance of Suikers, the wind was pumping so hard that I had to stop twice to pull mielie leaves out of my spokes. Was even worse from the Intersection after Suikers back towards Heidelburg.
