TomTom announced a new GPS Fitness Watch today: the TomTom spark. It appears to be a replacement to the current TomTom Runner and Cardio watches with an optional Bluetooth music integration

What makes it more awesome is that a local South African company helped with the development of this watch!

I like that you can store music on it and then use bluetooth headphones without needing a phone around.

Cool concept for the more fitness minded and short-mid distance runners.

Seems they have decided to leave the long battery life and serious stuff to the big boys which makes sense.

Agg no man ffs! I got the original model at a discount assuming the R/$ exchange rate would push the Spark into a higher price range. Idiot 0, TomTom 1.

I was in totalsports two days ago looking at watches and the guy said theyve just been for training and said I should wait, it will be in stores in a week or two.

I think for me this is perfect, as if just started cycling it gives me all the basics I need.

Hope the battery life has been improved,

And music whilest riding ?,particularly in traffic!!!

Battery is still pretty average (think about 6-8h depending on use of HR-sensor). With music it's even less. For a lot of people this is sufficient.

How does it integrate with discovery vitality? I know workouts can by synced using strava but what about treadmill runs and daily steps? Also is the activity tracking accurate?
