yeah its good advice 10k is kind of the very extent of my budget and i would still need shoes and possibly pedals.  I really must go try them out as I'm seen most people say you really need to connect with the bike.  Not all bikes fit and feel good regardless of the size.

This has helped and hindered me a bit but i guess the best advice is not to settle and not to rush into it.

My answer! Neither!

If you going to spend that amount of money make it a good investment.
Save a little longer and get a Good frame and decent groupset.

105 nothing less.

There are plenty of deals here you just need to be little paitent but at the same time be quick when the deal is there.

Just a suggestion...not sure if it will help.

...go to a few bike shops in your area (CycleLab and Cajee's come to mind...you should know of some other shops) and go and sit / fit / feel a few of the bikes in the store...you DON'T have to buy...then if you have the "feel" for the right frame / bike / brand, etc. then shop around here on the HUB for something similar (yet a bit older, but should have the sort of similar frame geometry)...good luck and happy shopping.

Nope, the best advice is to make sure you buy a bike that fits you properly.

It really is important

Apologies for hijack, but am in the same kinda position as Davey jones. I was going to wait until end of September or a little later. But saw this ad and it just keeps catching my eye .

https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/147948-cannondale-caad-9-force-11speed-price-drop/

Kinda round the budget I had in mind plus maybe a little extra.

Is this good value? I know the frame is 6 years old,but what I have read cannondale got there ally frames spot on. My biggest question though is it a full on race bike or is the geometry relaxed, Because that's what I am looking for.

At 182 cm 55/56 is the right size?

I am 182 but prefer a slightly more aggressive position. Old bike was a 54cm with 80mm drop and 90mm setback. Now on 55cm 90mm drop 80mm setback.

So I would not go 56cm personally. But for your relaxed need, a 56 will work perfectly.

brilliant so 56 is my size then. Is the caad an aggressive or more relaxed fit. Is it good value?

What other bike would fit my needs. Was looking at the bianchi's c2c and trek's is the Madone . Am I right in my line of thinking.
