It was tough with that wind, got dropped from main CL bunch at 20km but Icecream man, you were right, I still finished comfortably in top half of the group so I'm very happy in those conditions[emoji2]

By far the toughest of the handful of roadie races I have done .... roadies are a hardcore bunch it seems. No amount of warnings kept the folk away.

Gonna have to up my game to stick with bunches .... got dropped sooooo badly. Hectic school fees paid :) Nice one. Will be back fo so.

I ran out of matches at 50km trying in vain to close the break in AL. Well done to the BestMed duo and 3 others that got away so early.

Even the second few guys stayed away from the 24km point.

A real seeding event for the Argus CTCT in many ways.

I was tempted to turn short just after the aerials T-junction, but then realized this weekend was perfect training for our Durban Tour next month. A good 263km for the weekend.

Nice to also meet Prozac and Cas_1

Started in B batch, ended up stopping to bring my breakfast up trying to bridge the gap in the first 15km..

Tried to stick with C group that came past..

Ended up burning too many matches there too.

Then got spat out and crawled home painfully.

Didn't have legs to stick with smaller groups after that, from the 70km mark.

Many lessons learned here..

Once again, a very well organised race..

Think I shed a tear or 2 around 80 kays. Was tired an gatvol of the incessant wind that gave nothing til the last 5 kays.

Started in BL was a broken man by 30 km mark basically. Picked up scraps an tried to hold on as long as possible.

By far the worst event for me ever. 30 minutes slower than last year.

Well organized etc. saw a number of people leave the venue before the race due to conditions. Was tempted but glad I stuck it out. No fun though. At no point was it enjoyable today.

Cl started way slower than I thought but picked up nicely until the group blew apart. Tried to work with some of the guys but ended up being the only one working.

Wind made it challenging just to stay on the bike at times. Think I need to join a club to also have some muscle in the groups pushing people out to the windy side. I feel sorry for the one woman who got muscled out and hung out to dry in that wind...

Anyway rant over... I enjoyed the challenge. Wind or not I will be back next year.

Started in D for me, been cycling for 7 months. Finished 3rd out of D group so im well chuffed BUT was at no point enjoyable for me!

Thaks to the organisers, a good selection of drinks on offer at the end....

It was definetly a slog in the relentless wind not really enjoyable . Rode in fl group. But a small group of 6 of us made decent headway after a quick stop to sort out mates front wheel, luckily was very early on.

Rode with a guy from Germiston wheelers from about 55km after our group was down to 4 . Then we were 5 luckily.

Was definetly a bit of a suffer fest but really happy with the end result .

Thanks to the guys from fl I rode with ????

Good day training day out with Gerald and the team riding from AL.

Should have followed the Activize & Bestmeds boys that broke away so early, but I would have blown.

Early season form better than expected - 2 winter months on the Cx bike really paid off.
