whatever cage you have, make sure the bottle fits nice and snug.

e.g. the upright bottle not good, cage has no grip on the bottle

perfect, bottle "lip" fits nicely into the cage?

i don't have a problem with this tried and tested design. just bend the thing back into shape if it gets too loose on your bottle.

I neglected to add that you should use a well fitting bottle with the Spez cages. I prefer the spez bottles just make sure its got the indented ridge in right location.

and that you have spez lips so you don't spill out of the spez spout on the spez bottle from the spez cages on your spez bike

next there will be spez water .... :whistling: lol

It's more about the bottle than the cage in my opinion.

The Argus bottles are clear examples of bottles that suck.  The cage can't grip them.  But if you get a nice bottle that fits the cage nicely (especially if you have a nice 'click') then you'll be sorted.

There is....you'll often see it in plastic bottles on the roadside. Kind of yellow-ish...

I have fallen a couple of times because of the above bottles. After a couple of shots, those barbwire feels like they are actually tickling you, but not when you wake-up the next morning with holes in your hands...

Update: Picked up two Spez Ribcage II cages for a steal, had a pretty rough ride on Saturday and didn't drop one, Hakahana this weekend will be the true test I think. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Hi,

All the above mentioned cages work well, I am sure. But I agree with Shebeen - those wire ones work the best. They just don't look so "cool" on a R80,000.00 bike.

Have a great Wednesday, and be safe
