I didn't even notice who came 2e and 3e until the presentation. . But I'm happy for the bronze medal rider..he was quite active during the race yesterday.

Think the Belgiums, Dutch and Germans will be very disappointed after all the work they did yesterday.

Still enjoying that Boonen to sagan smile..

I never even heard what the commentator said in the last 2 kms. I need to catch it on repeat so I can hear what he was saying. Also only realised who came after SAGAN once the podium started.

PS I'm like a zombie today, hardly slept at all.

Lol

I think I will have to watch the last couple of km again.. there was a lot of Pacing, screaming and hands in front of the eyes happening.. my poor kids were couldn't sleep and ended up running into the lounge to watch and cheer and laugh at their mother.

How my husband can just sit there is beyond me.. Must say he called it exact.. said he will make his move on 23e Street and use the corners after it to his advantage.

Yup, that he is. Any more races I missed, haha?

Lol

This tour of Abu Dhabi is a big money tour. Seems the riders and teams are getting a very nice appearance fee and something about TV rights as well.. which you know what.. is about bloody time.

Yes, I read a good article on it on Cycling News I think. Hopefully it will pave (no pun intended) the way forward for a reform in the way the financials are run in the World Tour. Some teams can do with some money injections right about now.

I think all us Saganites were way too happy over his win that we couldn't particularly care for 2nd and 3rd. That said it's a really cool group that stood on the podium. Guys that make watching road racing interesting and fun.

And I still can't quite believe it:

I know he was trying to give a bit of a world peace speech but should maybe leave that to beauty queens? or do I have it wrong .....

A few years ago he couldn't speak a word of Engleesh, so I thought he did pretty well.

Shame man.. it's obviously something he feels strongly about and pointing out using cycling to change things is a nice message.

The one article says basically the sagan era has arrived, he will no doubt bring a lot of international attention that previously perhaps didn't are about cycling.. he is the perfect image for cycling.. young full of character and a PR dream as he is rather easy on the eyes too.[emoji6]

I have now watch those last 3km probably 6 times. And I cry every time.. it was just so beautiful.[emoji122] [emoji122]

No shees I donno I get pretty damn worked up while watching sport..

But he is something really special. And the people that can't or refuse to see it are just blind..

At a point yesterday I actually walked out and said..this kid is going to still give me a heart attack. That was the longest 3km of my life...imagine wat he must have felt during that last km, or what the rest chasing must have felt like.

He has come so far.. from that kid that lit up the TOC what 4 years ago to world champ.. we have seen him grow and mature in front of our eyes.

NOW for the monuments..no pressure[emoji23] [emoji23]

No just kidding.. he must enjoy this moment .. because if he felt he was a marked man before.. yoh it's only going to get worse.. he won't be able to go get coffee without the peloton following him[emoji6]
