So I have not seen a post regarding this event on The Hub yet

The new routes will be posted on the website today sometime.

For those who have not ridden it - this is a great ride

Best trails in Stellies and surrounds

Long route is tough but brilliant

Short route is really nice for those not doing longer rides

Entry includes lunch both days and a free massage both days

Would be lekker to get some of the comments of guys who rode it last year

Gooi mielies

I completed this last year. It's a really good introduction into stage racing or even for the experienced stage racer. The long route last year was tough. The first day wasn't too bad but the seconds day was one of the tougher 70km trails I have done. Lots of climbing on day two but plenty single track on both days. But it looks like the route might be changed from last year.

Congestion is really fine. You start in batches 5 or 10min apart

Long route had no congestion, short route little more but nothing heavy

Only one section one day 2 a bit congestion - technical down hill single track passing down helshoogte towards Pniel

The event is brilliantly organized. Rode it last year.

The medium is a really good option if you dont want to do long on both days

Well worth your money this event

I did the long option last year and it was brilliant. I'll be honest, it was tough. There was lots of climbing. That said, in this event the climbs are always rewarded with the most amazing descents.

Depending on your fitness and skill levels you might find some congestion. I am not the fittest rider out there but my skill is pretty decent I reckon, so in my case I moved back in the group on the climbs and ended up behind slower folk on the single track. I wouldn't say it was a problem though. Just make the most of the bit of extra time you have on the single track. Later in the day I found that the groups get spaced out considerably so then you really don't have much congestion at all. Maybe it was just my luck though. Going down Gspot at the end of day one I had the track to myself and same thing on day two going down Botmaskop.

I am really looking forward to the 2015 event! If you haven't entered yet, you clearly don't know what you will be missing.

Routes are out on the website.

Slightly shorter and they have excluded two of the toughest climbs one each on day 1 and day 2.

Looking forward to the slightly newer routes.
