Gen Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Hope this is the right place to post. So, tomorrow I will by in centre of the universe, Paris!! Took a wide return trip from Austria. Any suggestion on the best plan of action tomorrow. Where and how late. I would like to be close to the finish, but I assume so does another few thousand other people. Also, where would be the best place to get some souvenirs. Hope some Hubbers has been here previously and can give me some adviceMaybe try get close to Norwegian corner.. can only be great fun and a great atmosphere..
BeegMig Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 What will I be doing with my extra time after tomorrow, Vuelta feels way far
nochain Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Maybe I should post only once I am a bit calmed down....nah here goes. What a f$#@@*& useless team is Lampre!! So JRod attacks with a teammate on the final climb...by now Lampre DS knows Meintjes is 7th on GC with Aru gone.First thing I did sitting at home was check the gap...s$$t only 50 sec..how can the DS not know that???????? Should be no problem at all JROD has a team mate and Sky is not going to chase. Now Lampre also has someone only 2 min up the road....$#@&€£nut Costa...yes the same Costa that went into 50 breaks in this tour instead of helping Meintjes. So DS call the moron and tell him we have a problem..sit up and go and pace for Louis.....just 2 min of effort would have made the difference between 7th and 8th...no rather go for 5th on the stage..brain dead!!!In the end Meintjes needed just 1sec to keep 7th..JROD got exactly 50sec and moved up.Get rid of this team now Louis!!!!
dev null Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 I overheard this from somebody close to LM today. Apparently the Lampre team is split into 2. Those that support Louis, and those that supports Costa. And this is why Costa constantly did his own thing while the others aligned to Costa will not support Louis. There is serious group politics at play at Lampre, and apparently there are changes coming soon at Lampre.
HappyMartin Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Aru comes in 17 minutes down in tears with all his team mates patting his bum and telling him it's OK after he totally cracked. Meintjies hasn't seen a fricken team mate in three weeks come hauling in with the very elite guys and finishes 8th on GC. Costa is a selfish prima Donna and is just about good enough to carry bottles for LM. That dam team is an embarrassment.

And Rui Costa well he is there just for himself..

Even if Froome retired tomorrow, Poels would still win or be damn close. Orica should take Louis ASAP and build for 3 years time with him and Yates - they do seem like a team with the right attitude to compete. BMC had the right idea but the wrong support for Richie - TJ has never been that good, nor consistent.

Gen Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 They are definitely closing the gap. Difference between the leader and 10th
Frosty Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Let's not forget who is team manager at Lampre-Merida - Brent Copeland (Born in Joburg), and has been a part of L-M for many years. A short stint with MTN-Qhubeka to get them steup as a Continental team before returning to L-M in 2013. Being a Saffa, and working with Louis in 2013, it was easy to lure Louis across - given that DiData hadn't been granted WT status at the time.
