New tubeless installation, how long must sloshing be audible?

Hi all

2 days after my LBS installed new tubeless tyres I cannot hear the sloshing of sealant anymore. Is this normal or did they skimp on sealant?

I am asking because the back tyre is losing a lot of air, not sure what to do.

Thanks

Sheesh you guys are worrying me - been running tubeless for ages and have never heard sloshing. Should I hear it when I pick up wheel and shake it, or when?

How do you check if you still have sealant in your tyres? Some of us take the wheel off and shake it near the ear (at least in my case, I'm old) and then listen if you can still hear some liquid 'sloshing' around ....

If my pressure is staying constant between rides then I'm fine, if I need to do more than 2-3 strokes of my floor pump (after 2-3 days since the last check) then its time to top up....

I suppose I run the risk of everything drying up, even though the seal stays perfect... But it hasn't ever happened yet. I always start to lose some air when things are drying up...

I'd say you've been lucky, if I did that the next puncture I get wouldn't seal and I'd be walking home?

I didn't know this either, but in my defence I'm a roadie who just recently got my first proper mtb.

I converted to tubeless, put in about 90ml's, haven't heard any sloshing since. Also haven't had any punctures, and have ridden over all sorts of sharp spikey crap.

Yip you Should hear it if the wheel has been standing for a little while. Although this could not always be very accurate. There is always the possibility that water could get in.

BEst is to open a small portion on the tyre to rim and check it, approximately every 2-3 months (Very dependent on the amount of riding you are doping and what terrain you are crossing)

Not to hard to re inflate though once you check it, especially if you only open a small section on the wheel to take a look.

"riding you are doping"....be careful throwing that word around.

Otherwise, thanks for the info
