Are there any rules wrt what kit to wear at enduros ?

I wear lycra because I find it cooler, have had baggy pants hook on my saddle and haven't found baggies with a good chamois.  But just about everyone else wears pants.

I have been told one is supposed to wear knee & elbow guards if you wear lycra (sound like the piss was being taken - which is all part of the fun) but I would like to know, seriously, if there are reasons/rules or whether I just have no sense of fashion.

Ja, I don't think a dress will work well nor will it be appropriate (or safe) without any... :whistling:

advantage of baggies (even if you wear board shorts over bibs) is that when you take a tumble, yes changes are good you will take a tumble if pushing yourself on ST, then at least the baggies take the brunt of the abrasion and you walk away with your pants in tact (Most of the time) vs lycra that will tear far easier. The baggies also save you some skin on your legs when coming down.

this is all practical advice that I have tried and tested :P

it is like comparing hobo gloves (finger less) to full finger gloves .... full finger just offers so much more protection.

Hah, the one day I decided it was too hot to wear my baggies (always baggies over bib) on the trail was the day I wiped and tore a hole in my Assos bib...

Fortunately Assos have a crash warranty, so off to Switzerland it went. Got the bib back on Thursday, they did a damn good job repairing it.

do they charge shipping or shipping and repair to make good to the bibs?

Crash warranty applies to all Assos gear less than a year old (from date of purchase I believe). I'm not sure if they offer services to gear older than this.

I bought it from Cyclelab in April, they gave it to Assos ZA who indicated they could just stitch the hole. I opted to have them send to Switzerland, who replaced part of the torn panel. All free of charge.

I have actually done quite a few enduros & no-one has said anything about my lycra.  I really enjoy the expressive styles at the enduros, and the laid back atmosphere so my post really was just a query.

Now that I think about it, I have also fallen & worn holes in bibs (not for a while thankfully, but that probably means I'm due for another) so an overshort is a good idea.  I learnt to wear full finger gloves long time ago !
