ThanK's guys.

The owner generously gave me the spez to test ride. Today was round one... tomorrow is the more serious test .. round 2.

But my gut from the first ride Defiantely tells me the spez camber comp flies uphill. .. not bad on the turns either.... but not very comfortable in the air. It can handle the natural jumps with good momentum but forced jumps off unnatural undulations and she is like a fish out of water.

Will let u know how round 2 goes.

But just to note... The trance loved tucking in low at high speed around berms and on full sus it just want to take off anything to get all the air possible with the softest landing one cld dream of. The 67 degree head tube also gave me all the confidence in the world on this bike.

However.... The syspension was unbalanced and the front shock dropped out in front ome on lower speed corners at times. But this cld be a setting issue.

Obviously the trance cld not compete on the uphills with the spez camber.

Got some soul searching to do.

I got a Spez camber 2014 just like the one in the pic, add a dropper on her and she can handle anything you throw at it.  Ive punished mine for 2 years now and still couldnt be happier.  Climbs great, very comfortable, not a downhill trail around that i havent been able to rail thru, all in all the best all round bike out there IMO.

Shaw. .. I have it for the weekend and I am definately getting used to it.

I am on the brakes a lot because it is that quick.

The problem is the formula 1 brakes are shocking!!

I am just struggling to choose more than ever now. Ffs ... lol

Hi gents

Thanks for all the input.  Bottom line was..... there are a lot of fantastic bikes out there.... getting to test ride them was a mission in itself......other than Giant , who so accommodatingly provide test bikes at a drop of a hat.

I opted for the Trance, and collected it this morning.

The reality is that I had to decide what I wanted the bike for and what I was most comfortable on.

The specialized was a best in many ways, but it was very small things that pushed me to the direction of the Trance.

1. New bike vs 2nd hand....as pointed out in this forum

2. Trance was 650B (27.5) wheel size, which I just felt more comfortable on.

3. Trance was more flicky and better suited to endure style
