Roughly how many KM's into the ride is this turn?

You will see, it is just before/when you hit the tar road. 120-121km

See post 123, there is a Strava map, this left turn is where the road markings says "Blesbok" street

Where are there other danger areas

O no, I have'nt got the balls to do this race, only know of this last 4-5km because my inlaws are the owners of Pine Creek and we stay here as well, like trailer trash in a caravan park[emoji85] [emoji23]

Worst for me is the section before waterpoint 3 ... quite a few nasty dropoffs. There are spectators there so you will at least get a heads up if you see them there, cameras at the ready.

Hahaha! Spectators always a good indication of a dodgy technical section that's ahead.

Always torn between my ego & sense of self-preservation when I have to do a section of that in view of a crowd...

See you all there for the sufferfest.

Newbies don't stress about anything too much. The course has very few to no real 'danger' areas.

Just remember if you get off and walk be aware of other people who are riding.

Crossing rivers and stuff don't just plod in the middle of the main riding path and expect people not to get annoyed.

Otherwise stay hydrated, wear sun glasses if there is a head wind and if you are pale or ginger wear sun screen.

Travel safe, rest up and enjoy!

25mm rain for Groot Brak up to date.

Seems that the weather prophets were not lying this time, last night the sky opened, one could even see the moon and stars with some "donderweer" towards the Attakwaskloof side from us, this morning Groot Brak is a bit windy and raining again, not hard rain, but raining.

The downhill before Waterpoint 3 (Spur table at Bonniedale farm) has been resurfaced during the year, so it is not as technical anymore.

Atta is becoming too soft... [but don't bring in the 2010 Doringrivier Nat Res loop]
