"The completion of the questionnaire is compulsory and a condition of participation."

Mmmm, I do not remember that being a condition of participation, lets see what happens if I refuse to complete the questionnaire.

Pity that mail didn't get through to me - promise...

Well mine did actually get caught in a Virus scanner ... so I guess maybe yours did too ....

It looks to me like a very old questionnaire (Edit: for the university of Pretoria Institute for Sport, Exercise Medicine and Lifestyle Research
Faculty of Health Sciences
) that has been badly edited to for fill a purpose, and was developed by Developed by Paul Kilfoil, Software Development & IT Consulting : www.PaulKilfoil.co.za

I didn't even check for the secure connection and started the form. It bombed out halfway but otherwise it would take about 2 hours to complete because it seems to be hosted on nokia 1610 running a gprs connection. Every page load takes a minute.

You complete a medical questionnaire when you do the initial entry.

Further there was no mention of anything else required after registration to race the CTCT and definitely no opt in/opt out of such to make it compulsory.

If it is compulsory am sure most will put false answers or just no irrespective of the questions... so how much are mediclinic going to go by the answers in any studies?

Or CTCT now selling this medical information to mediclinic... and who else?

They mailed to say the website is fixed, was able to complete it quickly now.

I'm not a doctor but most of the questions seem relevant to treating you in the event of an incident so I don't have a problem with it. I don't mind if they use it for research either so I checked that box as well.

I have spoken to the race office and they assure me it is legit and that it is compulsory.

I told them that it is a terrible site and that it is obviously been changed (badly) from a questionnaire that was used for the University of Pretoria.

They assured me that the information will only be used by Med-Clinic and no 3rd parties.

I also raised the non-existent security and was told that they would look in to it. I told them I was not filling out anything until they up there game and I see https.

Just deleted mine. Also thought it was spam, or to be used as marketing spam afterword's. Like been said. Lets see what happens if we don't complete this?

Looks dodgy to me - no clue what data will be used for and why?

Could even be someone's reseach project - if so needfs to state that and enrollment should be voluntary.

No way I'm filling it in, and I asked lots of Q...waiting for reply.

I do not think I've entered the CTCT so that Medi-Clinic can data harvest my confidential medical information. The way this is forced as a condition of participation months after my entry is not acceptable and out of principle I refuse to provide any info.

I'm not gonna do it...they're lying in that they need it to better prepare for race casualties....after all these years....and then ask more than 12 questions abt cramping! Cheap way for market research. First take my money and now it's compulsory...bull****!

I say don't do it!!
