There is also a climb on the other side of sylvias, Its not long but gets seriously steep. Before sylvias by the ex bruma lake there is a robot, You turn at the robot and head into the boomed off area. its on strava, just not sure the name. Then from the linksfield side of sylvias there is a cobbled narrow road with a few switchbacks, also short and steep.

Yes done thoes.

I agree Turnhout is very steep but just about 1km long' do some repeats.

We call that road Chirch hill as ther are so many chirches on it!

At the speed we go you have time to look at them!!

There are the 2 bridges in Boksburg going over the N17 hiway and if you combine them into a lap using rondebult, Espri,Trichardt and Kingfisher roads it can be quite a climb if you do a 100 or so laps

:P

Seriously now... if you go to Primrose its the hill capital of the ER

Fishers hill, Ag de wit, North Reef plus a few hidden unknown side streets feeding of Pretoria road and North reef  I used to ride there a lot when i commuted to work back in the 90's....Not sure how safe it is now days tho ?

Rondebuilt and Trichardt now have 4 bridges, over N17 and N12  :P

I was including Bedfordview in the East.

We do Queen street - think it is steeper than Silvias pass and goes on for ever!

You can take some turns right off Queen to get some short, steep stuff too.

My neighbour used to do hill interval training along 1st Avenue in Edenvale / Marais Steyn Park

I don't know how steep you guys would consider it to be - I hate it

add that to linksfield Rd, and the Hendrik Potgieter bit and Van Riebeeck - should hurt you a bit

That reminds me....speaking of wild waters area...

SKF hill used to be a decent hill for early morning repeats

Not to sure how many remember SKF hill.... hill is still there :whistling:  but don't think SKF is anymore...

Kensngton has lots of hills. Some long drags, some hard sharp ones. I have one at the end of my street that hits 19%. Can't get up if it's wet.

I always hated going straight up Roberts. I don't think it's particularly steep overall to the school, but it was dispiriting because town and work beckoned on the other side...

lol yes SKF is gone and hill is still there. I ride it fairly often and its also obviously the finish to the emperors race. BUT the traffic is getting busy there now, I think its ETOLL avoidance because it was never that bad. Its already quite hair raising from 0500. Luckily i'm often on my mtb so hop onto the pavement.
