besides a few other pearls of wisdom my Dad handed down to me one of those was 'you're not a dog don't reward yourself with food'

i wish somebody had told all the women i went through while single and loose...they all said i was dog ;)

so this was a good week of eating.  Since Monday I cut out all sugars (that I can see or know is there) and also avoided the biscuits and rusks.

It is easy during the week days, being at work, but now the test is coming during the weekend, being at home!!!

be strong...check out my salad i made last weekend...try it...after everyone made me feel so guilty i went and made myself a pilchard salad for lunch...i would have taken a pic...but i was so hungry i ate it within minutes...now i have hiccups.

try getting more involved in the preparation of your food it helps me focus on what i should be eating...making salads is the best because you can snack on the lettuce...carrots and all the other nice things :)

i think we all battle with the weekends...just too many distractions...and too many excuses to eat unhealthy.

but that's so true. Really need to watch that.

Oh, I rode for 3h today, I "deserve" an XYZ.

No. Just - no.

come on myles "we" can do it...i challenge you to a race  to 100kg ;)

winner...prize to be determined...maybe someone offers a small prize ;)

Cool. No worries. Prize will be being able to fit into my new jeans, bought 6 months ago.

Just hit a hard reset on Tuesday. After hitting 111 on Tuesday (don't ask - too much food and not enough control) I hit the highest I've ever been. There's something wrong, and I think it needed a hard reset to sort out.

So after my commute to the office yesterday, I was back at 109kg. My wife and lightie went up to Durban this morning, where they'll be for the next 10 days. So that means I'm able to commute to the office every day, which essentially means 3 hours on the bike each day except Monday, where I'll be driving in to drop my car at the office for the week.

Also - can eat what I want. That's a biggie.

Should be able to go for a lekker ride this evening, once I get home.

Just had 2 "instant soup" servings for lunch, after toast and marmite for brekkie. Going to leave my large meal (relatively speaking) for after my ride. Also back on MFP for the dietary tracking, to help me stay on track.

FFS, I need this to work.

I'm by no means an expert on this - far from it,  but based on personal experience - 1) you guys seem to be weighing yourself a lot - the constant up / down during the week -  even during a day would IMO give false positive / negatives - rather say first thing every Monday morning  (pre or post ablutions - your choice  ) - weigh - log it on an app like myfitnesspal - and forget about it.

2) if you're stuck trying to get over a "hump" - say you're on 102kg and you just need that shove to get to sub 100 or whatever your small milestone is - have a look online at Reboot with Joe from that Fat Sick & Nearly Dead movie (Netflix) - he juiced for 60 odd days I think (which is ridiculous IMO) but I tried it earlier this year as a push /shove /kickstarter  for myself - and ppl were all it's just water loss and you'll just regain and all that - in 9 days of juicing I dropped just under 6kgs - and 3 months later it's still off.
and it was really not that bad - other than day 2 - felt dodge 17km into a ride but after that - felt great TBH.

that 6kgs dropped serves as a motivator  / reminder to make healthier choices rather than dieting and constantly beating yourself up over some numbers on a scale. Just my sorry I don't have 5c .

When I started riding again +/- 2 yrs ago, I was 129kg. I was giving it gas (literally and figuratively) for 2 months and did not lose much weight, maybe 3 or so. Then I stopped using sugar all together. I started eating Tiger Oats for breakfast, a solid lunch and light dinner (salads, soup etc.). Coffee is one thing I cannot go without (I'm a software engineer, and we convert caffeine into code), so I started drinking black with no sugar. I do use beans only, so at least it is good coffee.

I am down to 102kg at the moment. Not sure how to break the 100 barrier, because I've been stuck here for 2 months now. I guess I'll go for a ride, or something.

Interesting re. the juicing, Uni. I might just give that a go!

Must say I've been thinking about that. The juicing, at least. Will try it for a while, see what happens. Got nothing to lose. Well, in a manner of speaking. And I have a juicer attachment on my Kenwood, so may as well use it.

The weighing thing - I like to keep track of moves up & down over the week to see the effects of things.

I must say, I also tend to do better if I check daily.  it helps with motivation rather than trying to see major differences.

yeah, I write my mass on the mirror in the bathroom. Over the past 2 weeks I haven't...

It's played out in the figures on the mirror/.

I supposed each to his own - but at the end of the day it's how the clothes fit that's the best measure. I find if there's little to no change after a day of eating clean - it can become disheartening - but keep at it for a week - and you'll notice the shift.

Have also had soo many people tell me about the juice... some gym going buddies recommended the other "juice" but I stayed clear of that.

My concern is just about having the fuel for high intensity or long days in the saddle.

Anyway I think it's something to try, Maybe if just for 3 weeks or so. Amashova is now only 100 days away... no time to fall behind.

Just had a quick 30 min run / walk / pant / wheeze, just as teh "sun" was going down. Light drizzle, perfect conditions.

Just had 4 slices of pizza for dinner, and I feel completely satiated.

According to MFP, my total calorie consumption for the day is 1,479 kCal. That includes 3 coffees and all the other stuff I had. Run counted for ± 300 kCal, so I'm on a net calorie count of 1,179 for the day.

Nice.

Tomorrow, I start again. One day at a time. 100 kg WILL be my betty.

You can do it Myles !!

But remember the good vs bad calories, pizza ain't no good.

I've limited my daily intake to about 1200 and it helped my get down another 1.3 this week and now at 90.5.
