Enjoyed Ollies cam report, thanks badiejb  .

Trails 8,5/10- a little bit easy but the amount of work gone into them is staggering. Designed to give you a grand tour of the area including all the best track possible.

Food-awesome and plenty

Chill zone was a special treat. free beer and biltong if you got there in time.

Bike wash

plenty of shower/toilet facilities.

General vibe was great with evening entertainment of the days events.

Great that you guys had a good time..

Unfortunately due to life happening and the cold realisation that I won't be able to BS may way through the BnB this year, hubby will be riding with someone else.

I will of course be green with envy for missing out this year..

But to those doing the Great trek and 2 day the weekend have an absolute jol.

This event was superb, from a rider's perspective, the pampering was 11/10.

Route:

Day one is enjoyable. There has been little to no rain on sections of the route, the trail builders have been  building anti-erosion mounds (speed bumps as they are referred to) that makes getting any sort of rhythm going down near impossible.

This made descent down the escarpment was made very interesting I spent a lot more time on my front wheel then I would have liked, but this is mainly due to my front suspension choice (or lack thereof)

I Enjoyed the last third of day one a lot more than the first part, mainly because the field has spread a little, and one could have a bit of space to build up some speed into garden of eden etc etc.

Day 2 was simply the best riding out of the 3. Mikes and then Puffadder pass, simply WOW.

Once again, it's dry, and loose, with some ninja rocks waiting to bite under inflated weighted tires.

Day 3, real nice riding, Spieonkop was fun, gets the heartrate going nicely. and the waterpoint at the top, had brannas and coke for the pain, and a whole bunch of lekker snacks.

Then the singletrack down from spioenkop, was superb, one is torn between going fast, and admiring the view (both potentially catastrophic)

All in all, I rate this event way up there, not oversubscribed, just enough of everything and free beer..can life get any better?

Just did the 3 day and I found the course to be very rough and rocky, a proper challenge. With the area being so dry there is a lot of loose sand over hard pack with the odd rock thrown in for good measure. If you get off line you can get into a lot of trouble very quickly. The trails are technical with very little margin for error so if you go down it is going to hurt.

The trails have chicken runs to don't stress too much and there are now overtaking spots on the single track to let people past if need be.

If you are expecting a walk in the park you are going to be surprised. The route has changed and it is much tougher. There is much more climbing and it is quite demanding single track climbing.

A huge amount of effort has gone into the trails and they are very well marked, I never used my GPS at all.

All in all it was a great event.

Keep some gas in the tank for day 3, the new climbs are long.
