What is happening with SAS?

Well, it appears the SAS site is up again...and the first USN race (Modders) has been included...

.

They've obviously fiddled with the way the seeding calcs are done, because the seedings have all dropped / worsened substantially...

.

The seeding does not make sense to me at all.

This is a mate's seeding index - total gobbledegook:

Mountain Biking Index: 47.91
Best Mountain Biking Indexes: 49.75, 54.21, 48.45

ffs can't catch a break with these guys

With Attakwas I was seeded almost at the back of the field (despite doing ok in a number of Saseeding events), I literally passed more than 400 people during the race but my index has now dropped so next year I will probably start even further back.

Maybe I should just accept that the Atta entries are filled with amazing athletes that just take it chilled on the day...

So after trying to log in with facebook to SAS I now have a duplicate account. The account that I use to log in does not show my results, and when I try to update my ID number to link it to my results it says that the ID already exists,

Emailed them to try and sort this out, Wynand replied to my mail but after further explaining my problem he has not gotten back to me even after sending more mails?

I see the new SAS site is still very slow in updating results and pre-batching, and their events calendar is also not correct. When I entered for the Nissan Trailseeker #2, the events calendar stated that the venue is Legends MX. I see somewhere along the line it has changed to Hazeldean after I entered but nowhere did I receive a mail or confirmation to say that the venue is actually different from what is was when I entered. It's not actually a change of venue - they swopped the 2nd and 3rd race...

Yes it is very very very slow.

Maybe someone from SAS can come on here and explain the process of getting the data validated and updated so that we can better understand / appreciate.

SAS have gone from bad to worse. Their results information only reflects about 2-3 weeks after an event and a seeding is only allocated about another 2 weeks after that. They do not do ANY pre-batching anymore. Shocking service if you ask me.

@surprize - I also entered event 2 when it stated Legends and have received no indication that the venue has changed. SAS seem to be overworked and under prepared for the work involved in now running a seeding system and doing entries. I also believe Advendurance is at fault for not providing entrants with correct information and not telling entrants as soon as the change was made that the venue had changed.

And to think we rely on this to be better mountain bikers...

Frustrating, especially when you try and evaluate your performance progression amongst your peers. After 4 events this year, with steady improvements in my seeding, I was shocked to see a mate of mine with a much higher seeding then me, and this after him only having completed one event! I beat him by 20 minutes at said event, so that really confused the crap out of me.

Anyway, I don't eat from my cycling successes, so it isn't a deal breaker for me, but I'm sure there are a lot of more serious cyclists out there that really take it a lot more seriously :)

I can deal with systems upgrades - the new SAS website looks great, but the bigger problem is results errors - many results errors (hope they don't do their own accounting). Of the 4 SAS events I've done this year - they got three of my results very wrong (i.e. timing errors). This should be simple, I mean all the small races get it right quite easily?! Biggest issue seems to be a)  times often aren't comparable between batches - I think they often get your start time wrong (I had +45mins once) b) database errors where entrants from shorter races result times get put with longer races.

Proof that you can't polish a turd...though you can roll it in glitter... ;)

I've had the same issue about wrong start times with them on the old system, I think they just made the same old 'guessing game' look shinier.

Unless I REALLY want to ride something, I actively avoid events they time.

So I entered for the DualX the weekend and SAS just sent me seeding details for someone completely different.

Eish these guys are struggling to get it right.

I still have no time for Lionman from Saturday. Only sent them a mail with my time and details yesterday though. Thought I would give the some time to load all the results first.

That and I miss the old website, it was a lot simpler and worked better on my phone.
