Long Wheel Base Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Emperor's is also getting so expensive, almost the same price as 947 but no road closure.Yip, I bought that up in another thread a few weeks back when they released the info. I ride the carnival city which is 120km for me(VA) and it uses a lot of the same roads. The emperors is about 20km shorter and the entry is so much more for emperors?????? Its kinda like seeing a whole crate of watermelons and they R50 each, The small one will always be the last to go.
khm4252 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Big stuff up by ASG for this race but I want to stand up for them to a degree. No one else seems to be stepping up for road cycling events in SA and ASG events may be expensive but at least they are organizing a few. We can vote with wallets as to whether to race in them or not. They need to become leaner and more effecient to eek out a profit with little or no price increases but I wish them all the best and hope they continue. They actually had a good reply to a lot of the questions around them in a post last year which outlined their challenges etc. I think the "Robert" misake is forgivable, the seeding issue is unfortunate and frustrating but I got to say the registration in the west only is really bad form. I have to send a courier to fetch it so the costs keep adding up. Unless can we not register the morning of the race?
travisza Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Got the same problem here as well and friend of mine as well... both of us have a seeding index according to ASG of under 10 but i am in HL and he is in GL... please explain that to me. Happened at satellite classic as well and when i emailed them they said they can sort it out at registration but when there they couldn't do anything about it. If this continues i wont enter their events anymore.Same for me. My ASG seeding is 8...something and I'm in GL. Will debate trying to get a reseed on number collection - depends on how long queue is.

This been corrected now with all riders road seeding index taken into consideration for seeding. All entrants will receive a mail and sms with their new (correct) starting time and batch number. ASG

DominionZA Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I got BL and have only ever done 1 Road event (mainly MTB till now). I am nervous now. EDIT: I may bail though. Not sure if up for the hour drive to register. I purchased the ASG shirt though so that may force me to go through. Such a schlep.
