Sincerely hoping that tackling Vissies earlier in the ride (unlike the 99er) gives me a better chance to avoid the walk of shame...again.

It does not get easier, you just go faster!

Yep, on the flipside getting dropped on Vissershok 95km into the race - no shame. Getting dropped 10km into the race - eish...

I'm not the best climber around, is going to be a massive challenge for me to see if I can stick with Group B up that climb, didn't manage it on the previous attempt! Always a sucky feeling when that motorcycle pass you to catch up with the rest of the group while leaving you all alone in your misery...

Yip

Remember getting dropped there a few seasons back

Created a pace line with 6-7 'dropouts'

What a slog back in the gusts to the white chalk for about 85 kms

Thanks Breezer. Inspired by the destruction wrought on me by Vissershok and Odendal I swapped out a few parts on the road bike and now present: "The Caitlyn" ...

substitutions closed on the 12th

yeah - saw that too  :-(

PPA don't normally close their races (and subs) so early do they?  I remember entering a few on the day.  Not sure whats changed.

I understand they have to get final numbers for water points etc - but I'm sure they can't have that many late entries?  Or maybe I'm wrong....
