Hi. Wonder if anybody can help me? I got a set of Zipp tubbies, found out today that's it's fake. The side piece of carbon came loose from the rim itself. Is there any way to glue it?

Where did you buy the wheels?

Send photos to Bogus - if he says it is repairable, then take them to him - if he says toast, then replace...

In my few experiences with repairs involving the braking surface it has not been successful .... I have 2 wheels that were repaired in that area and in both cases there is a noticeable 'grabbing' while braking to such an extent it feels dangerous   - having said that someone like Bogus would be far better equipped to respond as stated by others, just my experience if that helps (I know it won't make you feel better but from a safety aspect ...)

Looks just like the outer skin that came loose. It was a second hand set from my local bike shop

Take them back if they sold them as Zipp's.....

Scrap unfortunately.

Whoever says he can fix that will just be layering some carbon ontop of that and not reinforce or repair it from the inside out as it should be done.

Also as Big Ben states the braking surface will be compromised not to mentions the balance of the wheel.

So unfortunately as stated in my 1st line, scrap them.

Post this on the Chinese thread. Maybe if people see how poor the quality is on these fakes (and other no name brand products) maybe they'll stop buying them.

There is a difference between fakes and Chinese carbon

Correct - the Chinese can and do make quality products - and those suppliers who do make quality products do not feel the need to forge labels.

My lbs sold this wheels for client. I only paid R1k for it. He told me that he think they are not genuine. I was happy with them. Been using it for 4 months on my bike when this happened over the weekend.

is the whole wheel junked ?  or can the hub and possibly the spokes still be used ?  basically is there a way to make the best of a bad situation ?
