Deliberate hit and run in Cradle - Help ID Culprit

I'm suspect that whatever happens in this particular case, it won't be 5 mins before he Pulls a similar stunt again. (Unless he's locked up of course, but that is not going to happen). It's "who he is".

So, when this or something similar happens in a little while let's hope the result of his actions isn't a serious injury to someone and that he then gets dealt with properly. Once a history of behavior is established it will be very difficult for hi to defend himself.

Will we ever have cops like this ? sorry if it's a repost..

Both these are 2 or 3 years old already...

I was harassed on Cedar road by a car who wanted to "own" they yellow lane and a SAPS cop intervened....

Also coming down Beyers Naude a cop car rode follow vehicle behind me in the yellow lane (Taxis are fond of using the yellow lane on this section).

So our cops are good guys and not the baddies what seems to be popular to portray them to be

Not sure if this was a once off but sounds like he may have done this before, not the sudden stopping but the driving as close as he can to cyclists. Reminds me of the incident in Simonstown where those navy guys shambokked those cyclists, only once found and facing a charge did they claim to regret their action and apologize.

If this is the same guy as mention before, then he has attempted to murder three times already. He deserves full punishment as he is a danger not only to society but to himself as well

I think he should be made to Marshall at a couple of events in his area .Satellite classic ext .A change of attitude on both sides is much more constructive .

Rather make him marshall at the back. If he sees how the racing categories race and go over the white line he might just run them over without warning!

hi all,

we have been in touch with the driver and his lawyer.

i am holding back on any information for the moment as we are still communicating and resolving the issue.

as such we do not want to air anything until a agreement has been reached.

as soon as everything has been finalised i will report back.

so far the meeting we have had was very positive.

Cheers

Also eager to find out what has happened.

Don't know what "agreement" could possibly be reached, other than an agreement from the driver that he will willingly go to jail. Furthermore, an agreement not to prosecute is known as compounding, which is itself a crime.

i'll give a full update in a bit.

but effectively he went back on his initial decent response.

we turned his offer down as  it offered a partial compensation with the condition we admit we were at fault.

so clearly he does not care what he has done.

we are now pushing forward on the criminal case. It is our understanding it is currently being reviewed to ensure court time is not wasted. ie if the case has proper grounding. (i'm not to clued up this side of things)

the way we see it, he has everything to lose should this go against him.

(something he otherwise could have avoided)

Cheers Furbz.

Always sounded like the sort of person who would go back on a deal once he had time to think about it.

Good luck going forward.
