Should be goodEntered both as well but I'm without my road bike at the moment (it's paying Bogus a visit) and I'm not sure I'll get it back and built before the race. Pity. Will be hitting the mtb event hard though.
Frosty Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Red = new route finishGreen = old proposed finish The old route was proposed in an effort to keep the 40Km and 97Km groups separate from each other for as long as possible, which is why the finish went along the railway line and finished outside the Casino. With the roadworks alongside the route, the only way to make it "safer" is to finish on Yaldwin, rather than going through Rondebult passing East Rand Mall. So now the organisers have to get all groups through the start (Jones Road) before the Elite's return about 2:12 after starting. That is the reason for the start time changing.

On pretoria rd a few meters before the traffic light at the Engen at cnr of Saligna rd there is quite a nasty pot hole on the very left lane, close to pavement. I think that should just be marked. Also by the Engen a few km's back, just after Golf course hump. I know there has been a lot of construction on the road there.

And, If you really want to cheat, make it believable at least. Don't go beat the time by a full minute if the section is only 2 minutes long.

Anyway, good on whoever flagged it In most cases, I'd lean towards stupid, but then if they load the phone app then just plain dishonesty. Not sure if the route recce on Monday will include an attempt at the KOM... some guys are just too obsessed with sprinting on every bump.
