Uni Posted March 25, 2016 Share I got given these, are they any better than the default bear traps? (For weekend warrior types)
Tumbleweed Posted March 25, 2016 Share Bear traps would probably be better. Those "nylon" pedals can be quite slippy when it's wet. Uni
cadenceblur Posted March 25, 2016 Share Saints are excellent. Bomb proof, serviceable, with parts also available. Their profile isn't that low, but they do the job.
Uni Posted March 25, 2016 Share price of saints? I think I might go get me a set of these giant ones otherwise, not too hard on the bank balance.

Haven't ordered since the major price increase. Edited March 25, 2016 by Robodog

Uni Posted March 25, 2016 Share Uni, you want metal pins... (and possibly soccer shin pads while learning )Would it be meanto give them away to the first person I see with a skedonk commuter? As in a curse to the dude. BSG
Uni Posted March 25, 2016 Share Uni, you want metal pins... (and possibly soccer shin pads while learning )I've always said if my bike gets stolen there's enough of my DNA on the pedals to ID my bike. That Giant one you mentioned for R620 at linden, does it have a specific model name/number? Baracuda Posted March 25, 2016 Share Just got the Saints for R750 +vat off Chain Reaction http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/za/en/shimano-saint-mx80-flat-pedals/rp-prod82557 I don't normally ride with flats, they for my commuter bike , but there were all these plastic things for R600ish and then the Saints for R750 and they are absolutely gorgeous. I never thought you could describe a pedal as "beautiful" but these are.

Tumbleweed Posted March 25, 2016 Share I am kinda partial to these flats myself, but not everyone shares my aesthetic... I have a pair of these that have moved from BMXes to MTBs to fixies...mucho robust. Don't know if they're still being made, though. Mosh was a sorta Giant brand, I think...
