He's standing in the sandy spot just before the bridge across the river - possibly the WORST place to ride into an armed crazy on the entire red route.

 

I hope they catch him and put him away.

According to a report on News24 it is a cyclist's watch stolen during a previous attack.

All seems to be quiet since the spate of (attacks) by this savage.

Many riders have been on the trails and there's been no further incident. Please be vigilant whenever you go out riding anyway, try and ride with a buddy, let someone know where you're going and your eta and for now the incident is regarded as over and the Trails are open still...Enjoy the Valley and remember to have a valid Ride Permit.

Done the trail a couple of times since then.

 

NO ISSUES.

 

 

Even when you "ride on your own", the trail is busy and you often see other cyclists.

I ride those trails often and haven't come across any person trying to do harm.

Ride this trail often with no trouble other than a bit of flooding at the beginning of the trail if it was raining the day before.

 

It will keep you cool for the 2000m climbing ahead  .
