For him to slot in on the podium after being away from racing for almost 2 years? that's ominous for the rest of the podium pretenders.

And of course his bike That was something special by Chainsaw. 4th in qualifying in disgusting conditions, and then not missing a beat by climbing to P2 in finals. That's predatory adaption. It's like the guy never left! This is one seriously hungry character. A very interesting start to the season!

Tend to forget he's only 26, so he's still pretty inexperienced when it comes to stuff like that. Humility seems to be on the increase. Still one HELLUVA racer, and a deserved win. Loic though, what a run!!! So miffed he dint make it stick. But this is racing, and it's a fine line between just enough and too much. He's damn fast though. Sorta reminds me of Hill back when he was first on the scene...there was something nice about Loic's run...sure it ended in him seeing his ringpiece...but there was a believe, you could see it...before Gwin would just set a time and ja, well everyone else played for second

I'll let the chainsaw off the hook cos he has been away for a while. Sam hill. i think, is more interested in making babies with his wife (not that i blame him) than riding these days..i mean his junior team mate smoked him by 5 seconds....and I don't buy this injury excuse..something has gone wrong in his head...every since that worlds crash Greg..needs to take that somewhat arrogant G.O.A.T sticker off his bike..or at least ride like he is the G.O A.T and not ride like a goat

Headshot Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 I watched a YT Mob vid before the race. It was entertaining - I am starting to like Gwin more and more. He took risks setting up the Mob and has shown so far it was the right choice. And he is damn fast. I rate him for the overall again. GM was a disappointment - he usually performs on race day but yesterday was weak - he looked slow. Loic must calm down a bit - he had it in the bag and threw it away again. He seems to be maturing slowly though - his response afterwards was almost grown up. Still better to be him than some of the others who really didn't bring their A games. Glad Smith is back - its time a Canadian was up there again. This track suits Gwin it seems. Not all tracks do so it may well be quite an open season which I hope it is. I am rooting for Mannon this year but she seems to be off the pace. Someone else whose mental game is not quite up there yest. The women's field looks like a 4 horse race - nobody there to replace Emmeline. Where was Casey Brown?

I think Manon was having tooooo much holiday in NZ and too little training while she was there I would add Myriam into that list to make it a 5 horse race...but in reality it looks like she is going to miss Cairns as well
